(Finally) In the 997 club!

BTW, I'm a Steeler fan. Unfortunately, I'm no longer going to voluntarily watch NFL games or follow them anymore. They've gotten stupid with all the politics and social media issues.

I rather drive the secondaries running parallel to 95 than on it. Sure it takes longer but it prevents me from becoming the top news story that day... crazed mad man runs amok on I95 as he terrifies permanent left hand lane drivers and last second lane changes in front of semi trucks driving barely faster than the driving lane. Tune in at ten to see exclusive video.

Seal Grey over Cocoa leather is a beautiful combo, enjoy, and congrats!

So I still don't have my car, had a small issue that was discovered the first day it was scheduled for pickup. Just ended up being a loose harness, by the time the shipper could get it rescheduled it has been what seems like an eternity, but it is finally supposed to be heading my way today. In the meantime I picked up this set of 19" Carrera Sport Wheels for the car.

LOVE those wheels. My absolute favorite.
My recommendation: get some Eibachs on it with 15mm spacers all around and that car will look sick.
Let us know when it lands.

Well life just really didn't seem to want to see me get my car! Finally came in last Wednesday, however I had left on Tuesday for vacation, so I had the car received and stowed away in my garage in my absence.
Just got home last night late and had to pull it out for one very short first drive. Looking forward to much more to come and to share my thoughts after I have had a chance to really drive it, and at least see it in the sun!

Congrats on your new 911. May I ask how many miles does this car currently have? I'm also in the market for a 997 C4.

So I have been driving the car for a week, and got the new wheels and rear spacers on yesterday.
A few of my thoughts, it is about as I expected it to be performance wise, quick, not really fast, but when a Mustang GT has 460HP out of the box, I wasn't really expecting fast from a 12 year old car with 325HP. I love that you really get to enjoy the engine note for a while without instantly going too fast for public roads and I am not looking to win any races personally. The tiptronic is a little lazy and sedate in D mode, wanting to take off in 2nd, and really have to push it to make it drop gears on its own. But a quick bump of the gear selector on the wheel solves that very easily and I don't find it sluggish. I have daily driven a series of pickup trucks my whole life, so I am still just grinning seeing those wide body hips in the rear side mirrors and the headlight hump in front of me everywhere I go.
I am really glad I held out for the full leather interior, it looks great and has such a pleasant rich smell when you get in. The 997's design lived up to my expectation, much more modern and luxurious than the prior cars, while still feeling a lot smaller than the 991. This one has aged very well for the miles as well, I think the Cocoa interior helped with that vs a lighter color, and while I am not opposed to black, it is nice to have something a little different.
Really happy with how the new wheels improved the look of the car. Have a few small changes to make like white side markers and new PCM dials. I am sure it won't take long for me to come up with something else to spend money on!

Congrats...wheels look great, some of my favs! So glad you are enjoying it!
I will +1 for some eibach springs pro kit. Conservative drop and not a harsh ride.
