Gundo /Fister hack?
Hi guys,
Found a 2011 997.2 “S”. Really enjoying it; joined the local club; looking for a Gundo/Fister mod just to make it sound like the smile on my face. Local Exhaust Pro declined to make the mod, fear of breaking something. Should I take mufflers off myself and take them to him, or order D. Fister’s units and install them myself?
Thanks to all you guys for helping me find this JOY!

If you are able to remove them yourself it takes about 2 hours to fab the bypass pipes and cut the holes in the muffler pipes. All you need is hand grinder and then find a weld shop to do the stainless welding. I have a template you wrap around the 2" SS pipe to mark and then cut. You only need 12" of pipe

I'd take it a step further. Not only well worth it but required to get your monies worth. That center muffler is so restrictive it almost cancels out the gains you get from either the the Gundo or the Fister mods on their own.

I have the Fister mod and the X pipe, I almost wish I would have just done the Gundo mod first and driven for a bit, to see how it is, then the X pipe if needed. At 90 mph on the road it is a bit loud...not I am going crazy loud..but it is there, tire noise is worse for sure....But when you are on it in, oh lordy....it sounds great

I posted this in another thread, so sorry for the cross posting but I recently got a 2006 C2S and within a couple weeks drove up from LA to FD Motorsports to let Darrin do the work on his own Fister Sports Exhaust. I am really happy with the result and Darrin is definitely a cool person to meet and deal with. Here is the video I posted in another thread:
Like a lot of people that buy Porsches in general, I researched my options before pulling the trigger on this "mod." It is relatively cheap rather than buying a very expensive exhaust that might not be what I want. Also, I looked at a lot of dyno charts of what exhausts gain in HP/TQ and I was not impressed enough to make the investment in a full system at this point.
Oh, and BTW, It would probably be the best for you to do a center muffler bypass/X pipe with the Fister exhaust. If you do the Fister exhaust alone, you might not see much difference because of the center muffler.
