nice OEM looking stereo upgrade
a friend sent me this. i like the concept. looks pretty factory, integrates into existing equipment, and adds a ton of available features. not sure about the manufacturers though

If I ever go aftermarket I'll probably go with JVC/Kenwood, they're decent and relatively inexpensive. Previous owner put one in my Corvette, it works great and does all I need it to: BT for handsfree phone and streaming music from Spotify and voice commands from GPS from my iPhone. No need for nav or Apple carplay here.

Three Wheelin'
I'll have to give this or something like it a look when it comes time to upgrade.

I guess they specialize in factory head unit replacements that look like original units.....but with upgraded features. My biggest gripe about aftermarked units is they dont look factory and stick out. For $400 this is a plug and play option that isnt distracting to look at.

its just as easy to add any other double din unit, but they look very much out of place and distracting

That would be great if it was plug and play with the Bose amp and the orange fiber optics where you just unplug the factory PCM and connect this one in its place, but I don't see any rear connections that lead me to believe that would work

one of the options listed is "support for 2005-2008 year cars original fiber amplifier".

That company Seicane is the home of the cheap MOST HUR unit (basically the same one NAVTV and Sun Coast has been selling to porsche owners for $650 or more for years). They sell them for around 120 bucks if memory service correctly. You can get the same ones on ebay for 80 bucks. But yeah, they are compatible with the BOSE fiber optics.

Nah. Looks cheap actually and must be crap compared to name brands. Also the pictures don’t look legit and are photoshopped mostly. So who knows what the actual end product maybe?
what I mostly hate about aftermarket is the lack of actual ***** on most units. I want and need a **** as touchscreen for controlling volume and other stuff is way worse than a basic ****!
