Default What is the correct oil pressure at 4,000 RPM for a 997.2?

What should I be expecting for oil pressure on my 2009 997 S? Previous Cayman did not have a gauge and all my air cooled cars would run about 1 bar per 1,000 RPM up to max. Thanks

Depends on oil temp. At low temps I will run 4-5. When the oil is up to temp. Maybe 3?

You should be getting 1 Bar for every 1k RPM even with hot oil. I get slightly more than 1 Bar (14.x PSI) per 1k RPM. At 3k I'm hitting 4 Bar with oil temps around 220 Degrees.
Unless I make a fast sweeping sharp right turn that is. Then its drops down to about 2 Bar.

7.2 has pressure on demand so depending on throttle opening and load, it may be lower than youd expect. its weird not seeing pressure rise with rpm on the 7.2, but thats normal. your manual will address what the pressure should be at a given rpm.

This!!! Oil pressure auto adjusts. There is no right answer for the 9A1 motor other than ... not 0.

Ditto on last 2 responses. Depends on throttle input

Lol, same on my 996, albeit only on the track. What is it with these 911s? They should never lose oil pressure due to oil starvation like they do.

At a low throttle opening (low engine load) and 4kRPM around 2 or so. Under larger throttle opening and load about 4.

The 9A1 on-demand oil pumping reduces oil pressure under low load but restores it to the 1bar/1kRPM under load.

Thanks all - I knew I'd read something about the on-demand part but could put it in context!
Appreciate the responses.
