I was born in NYC/Bronx and raised in Westchester. My Italian Grandfather was friends with Tom Carvel and built most of the early 1950's-1960's self standing stores.
We owned Store #59 in Westchester/Cortland.since 1952. Is now demo'd and property for sale.

All the best!

Hit 100k on the way home from work today, though only ~4k are under my ownership.

Default Update

Nearing 153k now on my 997.2 base 3.6 (early one, from September 08) will pass 153k next weekend on a drive to Scotland and back. Had the crank end accessory belt pulley explode on me at around 147500 earlier this year and had to have it trailered (no power steering or engine cooling!) But fortunately there was no collateral damage beyond that. Maintenance wise, apart from regular servicing, I keep it topped up with mobil 3000 (has always used a fair bit, had it for 5 years, and 40k miles in my ownership), had front coffin arms replaced earlier this year and it is booked in for new rear diagonal arms the week after next. Pauly

Just past this by a bit now. I did a lot of maintenance stuff right when I got it and added an IMS Solution. I’ve got other cars but this has turned into my daily and I love it.

I think most members on this thread will agree that if you are purchasing a 997, do your due diligence performing PPI & Bore Scope Inspection thru spark plug holes, and car has been well maintained and serviced/garaged, these cars feel & drive close to new.
At 107,400 miles my 997 C4 is extremely tight & quiet. Looks amazing as well.

I had this exact same thing happen some weeks ago

they replaced the belt and pulleys however I was dissapointed as I had a big service some months ago and would have thought they would have checked the belt? Luckily no further or collateral damage was caused . Now all is back working wonderfully

Always important to change out Idler Pulleys and belt at minimum every 60-70K miles

130K miles

trying to drive less and buy a car i can use to commute with and hold the burden of the heavy mileage i do every year.
have to replace the rear suspensions soon.

i wonder how many have changed their clutch? and when that kicks in?
