DEAD PDK - 2009 C2 - need new trans
I have a dead pdk, internal shift rod distance sensor failed, and the only solution is to replace the transmission.
Anyone know dealers that have good pricing on a new PDK unit (9G1300011BX)? I am currently in process of price shopping a new box and anxious to get this problem done an over with. I've had the wife driving it for the last 3 months before the wedding/honeymoon, now it's my turn to get it back now that we got her a a Jeep GC.
Thanks in advance for the help!

Call around, typically Sunset Porsche (Beaverton Oregon) and Suncoast have best Porsche parts pricing... but since it's a massive install, I'd get a price from them and have your local dealer match it (if you're asking them to install it).
Also, you may wanna ask for some goodwill from PCNA, as transmission shouldn't fail that quickly. 100% call them and complain, tell them companies give powertrain warranty for 10yrs (transmission for instance).
PS. Maybe don't let wifie drive after the fix! LOL

Wish I could blame this one on her, but she didn't start driving until it was range limited to 20 minutes!
Thanks, I previously spoke with PCNA, they gave me $500 gift card for my troubles and said the miles were too high (80k) and it was too far out of warranty to do anything.
Anyone have experience with porsche.parts http://porsche.partswebsite.com/oemp...1300011BX.html - they are coming in at $6,700 which seems almost too good to be true. Ever hear of them?
I'll shop around tonight and see if I can get some pricing for the dealership to match.

Well, not sure about that place, seem to be out of FL, but for a transmission job, I'd be a bit careful. Problem is if something went wrong at the install, the installer will blame the part, the part supplier will blame the install and you'd be in a difficult situation. If you can find a decent deal that ONE place provides the parts and labour and can also guarantee their work for like 6mos or so, then I'd pay a bit extra for the peace of mind.
Weird that 997.1 manual transmission is so much more!

Of the transmission is new it will still have the 2yr warranty from Porsche. Guess I can send that over and see if they price match it. If not, I found another dealership that has one for a thousand more
Maybe I'll try my luck with PCNA as 10yrs and 100k miles isn't absurd to guarantee a transmission.

Something to keep in mind is that includes the core refund. So it is closer to $11k.
This is another good site.

I read that post and I doubt a dealer (or Porsche) stepped up that way. Who knows though, maybe he got lucky? I've spent the last 3 months trying to figure a way out of this but I just want my car back haha. Time to pay up!

Stinks you have to deal with this on a major component at this low a mileage. Transmissions should go 150,000 miles at a minimum.

I am currently looking around my area for dealerships that have access to re-manufactured PDK units as they've only shown me new PDKs so far.
and the robot had it coming lol, philly can be rough especially if you end up in the neighborhood the robot did. I wouldn't drive my car through there!

That's because they're not disposable, can be rebuilt, and don't fail so quickly. New tech is great, but only when it's up to the challenge, and it seems there are too many PDK failures for my liking.

I agree 100%, my pdk is mechanically sound. It's an electrical issue, that's what was so aggravating. All well, think I found a dealer to do it closer to 10k, think that's my best bet in the Philly area
