This is truly a great thread. I followed the guide and video and was able to install a iSimple unit to my radio. Hurray. Easy to do, took my time. I bought a unit off of eBay, got the antenna adapter from Amazon and decided to use a switched fuse, so I went to Autozone and got a piggy-back fuse. I took my time so, about 3 hrs, going back and forth to the video when I got stuck.
Radio worked great first time. I checked that it was functioning before I put the radio and trim back on. Music from my iPhone sounds excellent with the Bose system.
Thanks once again to fellow Rennlisters. you are the greatest!!!

Hello everyone.. Installed LP1604 today, everything works fine and works perfectly.
But found a problem, a single CD can not work, is this normal?
(I saw the CD changer need to bypass, I did not do this work)

On my car if you put in a single CD it will switch to that screen and work like normal. Once a CD is inserted the CD button on the keypad toggles between the BT and CD. If no CD is inserted then the CD button will not toggle to the single CD screen, only to the BT. In other words, access to the single CD function is dependent on a CD being inserted.

Guys thanks for all the information just installed the Tranzit box in a 997TT, lots of FM hiss at low volume, have this on order and will rip out the RF modulator. Looks straight froward to install. Car has the 6 disc changer taking up space in the frunk in an abnormal spot, also going.

Update: Kit arrived from Amazon yesterday installed in under an hour thanks to this forum. Will take it for a test drive later today. Kit has everything needed including the CD changer bypass loop. it wasn't clear from the description so I ordered and extra one.
completely plug and play

any comments on microphone placement for a Cab? (2007 C2S Cabriolet) that is semi-tolerable if I need to take an incoming call before I can get the top down? The recent in-steering column looks neat.

I believe the older kits you needed to take the connector apart and install a inline splice the new kits are completely plug and play. Remove the PCM unplug the the fiber optic cable, it plugs into a female end included in the kit.Your left with (2) male ends the short end plugs into the PCM the long end is the new module. Perhaps lots of returns from confused DIYers?
The CD changer loop is included, I just returned the extra loop with the Tranzit RF unit.
I believe the inside steering column is the best location for the mic for a factory look.

Is the antenna adapter also included? If not, what is the adapter that is required? I just order this kit. Thanks!

Anyone getting a engine wine noise? I will check for ground loops with my multi meter and change the +2db setting back to default.

I did at first actually, I ended up moving the unit and wiring around a bit behind the pcm and that cleared it up for me. Another friend that has this is having this issue though, I was thinking of grounding it right to metal under the dash instead of through the cig lighter plug to see if that would clear it up....

This seems overly complicated to me, I use the Astell & Kern XP10, it accepts hi-res BT audio via the aptx codec, and when I want to make calls, I just lift up the arm rest; the device has a microphone built into it and I've not had anyone mention any issues hearing me and or feedback.
