A few more questions?
1. Since I don't have a CD Changer, yet the Dealer enabled it in the PCM...do I need to go to frunk and add the connector to loop the FO wires that normally would feed the CD Changer? I can't see any FO wires to where the cd changer would be located.
2. Is it possible the MOST Ring isn't enabled on the base stereo set up like mine?
3. Since I am following the instructions exactly for those with CD Changers, could this be creating an issue? I definitely get no light on any cables when wired as Zettinger outlined above. However, if I remove the factory PCM FO cables and just plug in the provided FO cables directly between the LAPower to the PCM and PCM back to LAPower I will see light on the end of one wire going into the LAPower.
I do have wiring knowledge but I am truly stumped at this whole MOST Ring nonsense.
Thanks for everyone's assistance. I know you just want to say I don't know what I am doing. Ha
Success! Unit connected right up with my phone (iPhone X). I located it under the glove box. Led the aux cable under the console panel if I want to use it later. Not too pleased with the location, but maybe I’ll revisit the location later. Haven’t tried the phone. I’m basically interested in the music streaming.
I wouldnt have known about this if I hadn’t seen this thread. THANKS!!
I’m selling my unit. Can’t get it to work with the base stereo. Selling it for $125 which includes shipping. Bought it on eBay new in box. They have rebranded from LAPower to Mr12Volt. If you have the Bose system you shouldn’t have any issues. The non Bose system doesn’t run on the MOST loop.
Hi all, I was suspicious of something so affordable, but wanted to add that after installing the $148 unit on my 2006 987’s CDR 24 (Bose), it works like a charm.

Reason: Added detail
Installed mine today, thanks to all that contributed on this thread earlier, made the install very easy. The video of the fiber optic hook up on earlier pages made it really simple.
So far the unit works great, sounds good and the phone sounds great when making calls (I called a few people to check).
I put my microphone up by the headliner kind of where it meets the dome light and wedged it in. Holds great, only seen by the driver and sounds good to others.
Sidenote- When first installed it I had a slight whine sound coming through the speakers that would go up and down with the engine rpm's. I moved where I stashed the unit behind the PCM to a lower spot and the noise went away. I can only assume some sound/power/ground wires were tightly together that was causing the interference pickup.
I bought on eBay and it’s labeled Mr12Volt. Very happy with it. One morning I had an issue like another poster where the PCM stated “system error, no amplifier”. Later in the day this issue went away. Maybe a revisit of the fiber optic connections to ensure they are secure

One of the most annoying things about the Denison was the “No CD changer” error message that never was addressed or corrected by Dension. You guys see this message at all with the new unit? Just curious. Other than that message on mine, it’s been flawless since 2012. I did not wire mine as instructed by bumperplugs nor have I ever updated the firmware. It’s awesome sound without any odd sounds or anything. Very happy with my Dension.
Hi all. I'm having some problems with this module and I'm relieved I stumbled across this thread full of experts
My 987 Cayman S has cdr24, sound package plus, no cd-changer, no bose, no etc. The lapower does not show any leds, nor can I select the cdc function on the cdr24 (only cds).
When I hooked up the lapower directly to the back of the cdr24 (MOST), the radio gave a 'protected' error. Therefore it didn't work.
Then I placed the lapower in the MOST loop, like so: cdr24 --> cd-changer (looped this connection in the frunk) --> lapower -->cdr24.
The lapower is receiving 12V power checked with a multimeter.
Got the cd-changer coded with PIWIS by an independent shop (made some pictures of the change they made), but still no luck.
When I disconnect the MOST connector from the lapower, and power-up the car or radio, I see no red light indicating a working MOST signal.
Is it possible the shop forgot to activate the MOST loop itself (consider they charged over $100 for 10 minutes of work...)? I found a document from Mobridge, about one of their Porsche dedicated cdr24 products, stating:
To activate:
1. With Porsche PIWIS tester, activate for (enable or code ‘ON’) Bose amp in the gateway and CDR23/24.
THEN let the car go to sleep with this setting. Check for light again, MOST should now be active and on
startup it will look for the Amp. (doesn’t matter that the Amp is not present).
2. Now that MOST is active, with the Porsche PIWIS tester activate for (enable or code ‘ON’) CDC in the
gateway and CDR23/24. Let the car go to sleep. To be safe, check the coding/activation for CDC again.
I hope I'm looking in the right direction...
In this PIWIS screen the first of the 3 MOST configurations was selected (all 3 were empty):
And in the following screen the cd-changer was selected:
Does anyone know if one of the other options DOES work with the base non-bose stereo system?
csmab, were you able to locate an alternative that works?
I purchased the TranzIt BLU HF Unit. It works perfectly. Runs through the FM Antenna. I’m happy with it. Cheaper than the LA Power. There is an thread in the 997 forum about it. https://www.ebay.com/itm/NEW-iSimple...-/222870471803
I’m still selling the LA Power unit if anyone wants it. $105 includes shipping.
