Default Good deal? - Used 997.2

I have a test drive scheduled for today and had some final questions on this car. First, there is an entry that says engine was removed, compression checked, frlywheel replaced. Is this something I should be worried about? Otherwise, maintenance seems solid.
https://www.carfax.com/VehicleHistory/p/Report.cfx?partner=STG_0&vin=WP0AA29989S706097

Second, is there any way to find out how much the car cost and what specific options I comes with?

Third, the car is listed at 38k excluding taxes and has 53k miles on it.

All in all, would this be a deal you guys would take? Thanks in advance.

only $38,000 at these miles is a pretty darn good deal. As for the info you are asking about, ask the seller- if you want to know exact options it came with i think you can give vin to suncoast porsche and they decode for you with options for a fee.

Get a ppi and buy the car at that price if its good, don't waste time

In the Car Fax report that you reference it states that the "engine was removed to complete the repair". There is no description of what the repair was. You note this. The flywheel was replaced, but I wouldn't think that would require the engine to be removed (someone correct me if I am wrong). Why not call the Porsche service centre (in WI?) and ask them to look up the repair work order and see what was actually done. This could save you a lot of money if their description of the repair surprises you.

I tried but the dealer says they can't provide information unless the owner who took the car in gives consent. Would you guys suggest having a PPI done? Also, anything specific I should tell them to look for? This is my first used car purchase and my first Porsche purchase so consider me a newbie.

Certainly do a PPI if you are really interested in his car. Remember parts and repairs are expensive for a vehicle like this. Take all of the info that you have to the dealership when or if you get the PPI

Seems like a good price. Factor in another $1300/1500 to install the Sport Plus option. No PDK car should be without this feature:

You should ALWAYS have a PPI done! $200-$400 is a small price to pay for a DME report and piece of mind.

Engine out is not a standard maintenance requirement for these cars. No matter what the price, I would need to know what necessitated that action before I seriously considered buying it.

PPI would be a no-brainer on a car with this kind of history.

That being said, at that price, I could get comfortable with purchasing it as long as everything checked out.

Im sure you can find plenty of cars with more options and less miles and no service questions
try to find a car at a dealer with cpo or that is cooperative about its history

There are PDK issues/replacements for some of these early cars which requires a drop if I am not mistaken.

38k is a good price with 53k miles.
Get a PPI and see what the results are and then decide what is best for you.

I called every Porsche Dealership within 50 miles of my location (Calabasas) and have been told by each one that they no longer do PPIs on cars bought from third-parties. Anyone have a suggestion for where still does a PPI close to Calabasas/Woodland Hills area?

I'll check them out, thank you.

Also, does anyone know whether there is any truth to this: My local Porsche dealer told me that the benefit of buying the fidelity powertrain warranty through them is that they inspect the car before issuing the policy so that things cannot later be excluded by fidelity when they made a repair. They want around 2k more than other independent and none porsche dealerships I have spoken to. First, is there any reason why I should get the warranty from Porsche (even though they are both Fidelity powetrain warranties)? Second, what is the benefit of getting it via Porsche, if any? Thanks.
