If the car has a rare and desirable PTS color, costly desirable aftermarket wheels, and the desirable non-fluff options (X51 for example) that would add a lot of value the opinion about the right price might change somewhat.

Just for reference, I bought an 09 S (997.2 with DFI, no more IMS bearing etc...) with 27k miles for 56,900 a year ago. And that was because it was flawless with a clean inspection. Manual, full leather option etc. Not saying an 08 S with 70k is not perfect- it may be and 70k isn't much anymore especially to a well cared for car but if you have $50k to spend my suggestion is to keep looking and you will find newer and/or less miles. Plenty of cars out there especially for $50k

Yup, too high even for a fully loaded config with PCCBs, full leather, etc - the Tip is the value killer here. You can find a .2 for that kind of money with the much better PDK. Resale value on that car is also going to be low should you ever try to move it - you'd take a $10,000-$15,000 hit the day you bought it for $50k.

captainbaker, while your shop is changing the cable, have them replace the AOS unless you've recently had that done - they're going to go right by it from a labor perspective to access all the connection points of the harness they're replacing.

Link to the 997 I checked out yesterday, a little rough for my liking. I passed.

Desirable options - you don't see bi-color terracotta very often.

Yup,
Adaptive Sport seats too (but I can't see the corners to tell whether they're Manual Adaptive or Power Adaptive Plus versions),
Sport Chrono,
No PSE though,
and although it has yellow front calipers they're not PCCBs (caliper isn't large enough in the wheel and looks to be a 4 piston, not a 6, and the rotor hole pattern isn't correct for a ceramic rotor)

PCCBs look like this

compared to this car which looks like this

Quite nicely optioned actually, best wheels, best interior, ceramic brakes, Leather, painted console, etc... however, the milage and price don't match and it's hard to see the condition in the pictures.

So, I'd only get this car IF you LOVE the color, options... AND you have to negotiate the price down at least $5K specially since it's a Tip.

Default 2008 997.1 S

Too much
Do you really want a tip
too many miles for that price
I also got the Aero kit and only 23k miles and paid that or near that 4 years ago
Keep looking unless you love it...

Way too much for an automatic 911.
