Same concerns as any mid-late 05-07 997.1.

Get a PPI to include a bore scope. Expect to replace the original water pump and possibly the battery to starter cable. Late 2005 and onward addressed the IMS issue to an acceptable level.

My 08 came with a new water pump and is getting the starter cable replaced this week.

No issues, just do PPI (pre-purchase inspection) and you're good to go.

Is the auto/tip the same as the 993 version ?

What do you think a coupe is worth ?

i do not know what the msrp was on this particular car.
but you look an autotrader and comparable 997.1 carrera s with that kind of mileage go between mid 30s and low 40s.
50k is at least 10k more i d pay.

A very quick research:

you can buy a 2008 carrera s for 46,988.00 at carmax with 32k on odometer.

32k vs 70k big difference in price.

Agree, way too much. For that price you should get an 08 with >50,000 mi for sure. I'd guess a 2008 S Auto with 70k mi closer to $35k.

The auto/tip cars sell for less than the manual cars. The auto/tip gets a bad rap here because the manual guys prefer the manual and the PDK guys prefer the PDK on the 2009+ cars. However, the tiptronic is a very robust, reliable, and quick shifting automatic; if you are ok with an auto you'll be happy.

Agree with the overall comments.

However, condition trumps miles. A vehicle that has been well cared for, with new tires, etc is worth a fair amount more in my eyes. Not $10K more but maybe $5K. You need to be careful of $20 ****** with nice lipstick. A thorough PPI will tell you what you might be getting.

Also, 2005 and 2006 MY cars are more prone to the starter cable than 2007 and 2008 MY.

Just brought my 2008 S to the dealer and asked them to do whatever is needed knowing that my Fidelity Warranty will cover the big stuff. All good. No AOS issues, no leaking RMS, water pump was dry, they scoped cylinders...all looked fine. They could not find a thing to fix (and charge Fidelity).

The car is over priced by at least $10k. From my experience, asking prices on coups are slightly higher than cabs.

Here are your comps from cargurus:
$47k, 27k miles
$53k, 10k miles
$50k, 30k miles
$35k, 90k miles
$49k, 37k miles
$53k, 19k miles
$51k, 31k miles
$45k, 54k miles

All are 2008 Carrera S Cabs.
