I hate "locking" lug bolt and usually remove them from any car I purchase almost immediately...

But in a pinch, you can hammer on a 11/16 deep socket right over the locking wheel bolt and remove it with a standard breaker bar... Buy four sockets so you don;t have to worry if you can't get the socket back off the lug when it's not threaded on the hub.

Then go buy four replacement non-locking lug bolts so you don't have to worry about it again.

The HRE RC100 released a few years after the last production year of the 996 so I don't believe it's ever been done. I have photos of the RC100 on 997's, 991's, and Cayman's but no 996's. It would be pretty cool to be the first to do it though
