Only did $69K with fee. Massive laundry list of track mods, flashed ECU (voided the DME), and broken HVAC really, really held this one back. But almost $70K "as is" does speak volumes. About what's coming

Heck guys, only three years ago that was a $30K car

(and where the heck have all the desirable Turbos gone?? cause they're not on BaT anymore; few ultra high end Ruf's all we've seen this year)

The market has changed dramatically. The only manual coupes we're seeing are either high miles, highly modified, or both (this one)

The good cars are being held back. And with good reason

Safe to say the market has changed.

I'm really kicking myself for not buying mine sooner. Even at $40k a few years back would have been a huge savings. I also noticed the lack of cars on BaT.

911 Turbo market does not exist in isolation, but regardless of ebbs and flows, the overall trajectory remains decidedly upward. 930 Turbos were only $30K +/- a few years ago too, and look now. Likewise 964 Turbos could be had all day long under $50K; now they start at 1/4 mil

(and there were over 20K 930TT made, but only 7K 996TT in manual coupe)

IE, not a lot of people make money waiting for 911 Turbos to depreciate. And you're almost never wrong betting huge on their way back up. Just nature of that beast; YMMV

I had no idea they made that many 930's.

I'm not trying to make money on mine but don't want to devalue it by driving it too much. But then again, it already has a lot of miles.

Porsche made over 6K+ 993TT manual coupes and everyone on Rennlist claims they're the rarest Turbo on the planet. If you dare respond there were only 7K 996TT made in manual coupe the Luftgekühlt want you banned. 996 hate is stronger than ever; it just went "underground"

Software does not reset the overrev count on the DME, that only happens if it gets completely wiped or replaced.

They always hated the 996, generally speaking. Most people think what they have is special, I get it. Being defensive about it is what's odd.

Rev limiter is wiped by ECU flash. If there is no rev limit, there can no rev over the limit. So any DME data showing low or no over revs is useless (null and void)

They know what the Mezger is. And they know their Turbos don’t have it. And that makes them defensive because the values will eventually reverse. Only a matter of time I guess they want to be dead first

Supposedly there are 20,000 996 turbos world wide and I think the number of tiptronics is actually less than the 6 speed

make 7k 6 speeds in america?

This is wrong. A DME flash might raise the redline but the over-rev counter doesn't know that the redline has been raised so if anything a car with a flash will usually have higher over-revs recorded not less.
