Found a perfect gem: '01 TT w/6800 miles
I'm a long time Porsche enthusiast, dreaming of a 911 Turbo as long as I can remember. My wife drove a Cayenne S for years and recently moved on to a Panamera GTS, so I got tired of watching her have all the fun. I sold my Supra project car and started the search for a clean 996TT, looking around all the forums, ebay, AutoTrader, CL, etc for a few months now.
Thanksgiving morning, I woke up to my standard routine: open eyes, turn on phone, search for Porsche. But that morning was different...a new listing popped up: '01 listed with 6795 miles, owned by a long time PCA enthusiast. I spoke to the owner that day and right away could tell that this car was well taken care of. Made an agreement immediately, deposit sent and I picked it up in SC with my truck trailer the following weekend.
My old man owns a repair shop down here so he went up with me to check the car out. We arranged to meet at a shop that allowed us to use their lift and inspected the car over. There was honestly nothing to find. Car is absolutely perfect and looked brand new inside and out. When the owner said that it has never seen rain, I believed it when the car was on the lift. Unbelievable that cars like this still exist.
With the car, I received a box full of receipts (including every gas receipt for the life of the car), extremely detailed documentation of all service history as well as copies of all magazines that ever did reviews on the car. I enjoyed hearing the stories about the car that came with each document in the box.
Details on Car
Seal Grey Exterior, Natural Leather Grey Interior
Sports Seats
Carbon Interior everywhere
Stock except for springs that were originally installed by Champion when car was newly delivered.
EPL tune done a few hundred miles ago
Car is home so I figured I'd take some pics of it alone and with its garage-mate. My daily ISF feels a little out of place next to these 2 beasts!

It is a beauty.
Pull the bumper cover and Clean the radiators. I just got a 2003 turbo with 17k miles on it. Right radiator had something, bird? smooshed into it. Took awhile with tooth picks to even get water to wash through that spot.

Thanks guys. Definitely feels like a barn find to me. Its as close to new as I could get.
rick brooklyn - your holiday may be ruined, lol. It wasn't one of the crazy low $30-40k deals, but this wasn't a $70k purchase either. Probably a few dollars above average market value, but in my mind, I would have spent the money anyway to try to fix/restore anything that wasn't right.
Looking forward to some weekend drives with it. But I promised the previous owner that this car would never see the track. I have my e30 m3 race car for that.
