The black one with TMU was for sale 2 months ago when i was looking. I was hoping for a good car in the $30s when i was looking, only found one and the colors did not appeal to me. Seeing all these cars in the thirties made me wonder if i did the right thing paying mid fourties. But looking a little closer at all the "finds" i am glad i got the car it did.

Turbos in the low mid 30's leave many unanswered questions that may have expensive answers. What amazes me is people willing to drop 30k and put in another 10-15k. There is a noticeable quality cut off from the mid 40k to the 30k rides. If I felt like I was settling for a sub 40k car I would simply save for a car that wouldn't leave me questioning my purchase on a daily basis.

Well, I think there are good cars available in the $30k's, but they don't last long on the market. If a car has been languishing on the market for several months, it's either overpriced or in poor condition (or both). Most of the guys selling a quality car in the $30k's want a quick sale - frankly they don't want to deal with the typical Porsche buyer. They want to get the car sold rather than dealing with tirekickers, joyriders and guys who analyze every detail to the nth degree. Both of the Porsches that I sold were good cars, but hardly perfect. When selling time came, I disclosed every minor issue and sold them cheaply because I didn't want a hassle. If you sell a little below market, the market realizes that and you end up with multiple buyers. So, if the first buyer hesitates, you move on the to second. By pricing a little above market, you get to twist endlessly in the wind while buyers come in and suck up hours and hours of your time.

Blue 2002 in LA with 118K just dropped under $30K. I've actually been to the dealership. Not very appealing place - far from a 'class A' dealership. Most likely they grabbed the car at an auction.

Actually looked back and the price has dropped over $8K in just a few weeks. I'd say 'mandatory PPI.'

I did find a very nice cover for the cubby that installs over the stock one. This one has deviated red stitching, which would match my seats and dash.

Nice catch - I missed that. Yeah, I think it must be aftermarket. That appears to be an enlarged version of the cubby, which I haven't seen.

The ebay leather cover is very nice. I have it on mine. You have to remove the OEM leather off and glue the new one on. I had a hard time finding the right adhesive but got it right. It looks good.
