Hi there!
I am looking to join you guys in the 996TT camp.
Seems like, it's the Porsche that makes most sense at the moment.
Was originally looking at 05 997C2S on M96 with smaller IMS to do the retrofit, but at that price why not get a legendary Turbo right?
I am also too scared of the bore-scoring on the 997.1 3.8L after all the horror stories.

Hope to find a non-garage Queen 996TT in SoCal! I would bet on a higher mileage car than a garage queen for a car over 10 years old. What do you guys reckon?

Not exactly the right thread for the question but might be the right one to find a match. To answer your question safety in a purchase is all about the maintenance, low or high miles. Resale is miles and maintenance.

I went and saw this one, but definitely fishy. Dealer has no history at all but searching the VIN number looks like it came from Texas. Issues I saw was that the whole car appeared to be re-sprayed and very poorly at that and the after-market navigation appears to have been installed by a 6 year old. Price is way too high I think the dealer thinks he made a great investment since he bought it for 35K few weeks back.

He's a professional jet pilot, must be an exceptionally maintained vehicle.

This car's been on ebay for quite a while now, most likely due to the price. But I was just curious if anyone knows anything about it? Was it originally Mexico Blue or was that a repaint? Was it owned by an RL member?

^ The interior is terrible- miles while decent aren't low are a couple reasons.

I think he exceeded his quota for the use of "excellent" and "serious" in that ad.

I wouldn't say terrible. The blue bits might not be for everyone, but those are easily changed out. The rest of the interior looks nice, typical 996TT affair. I'm actually a fan of the alcantara steering wheel and shifter boot. But, if that doesn't fit your fancy, there's always the one below

He's probably just too busy being a professional jet pilot to find a thesaurus.
Ads like that are just begging to be trolled.

From his ad "I am a professional pilot and long time Porsche owner. You will find I am knowledgable and have great equipment."

Not sure if that is from his for sale ad or his tinder, or maybe Christian mingle profile...

I only purchase cars that were previously owned by rocket scientists... typically, way better than cars owned by jet pilots.

Love the quote in the ad "Priced right so we can get the job done." Yeah, "priced right" assuming it's got a bag o' $10,000 cash in the frunk.

Eww, that orange car has headlight covers.
(Oddly enough, I have been to that port where it's located in the UAE and there was a guards red 930 just sitting there abandoned rotting away in the sun)
