I'd pay $20k for that car all day as long as it wasn't a true flood car (like, water up to the dashboard or something). That one looks like it just got some water in the interior from a bad sunroof drain or something.

I have restored cars that were much worse than that. Of course I did not pay full kbb value for them!

If I am remembering correctly the owner of that car used to post here. I believe it’s a full flood car. Water up to the dashboard. Total mess.

You can absolutely see that...

Restoring a car that spent its life transporting a Weimaraner around was bad enough, this is a total non starter for me.

Strip it, and turn it into a race car with brand new everything.

That flooded Turbo S had water up to the bottom of the front seats. Well documented in another thread. Not salt water, so YMMV on whether it was fully restored or not. Huge dice roll

Has this one been discussed? Great interior spec. Only 17k miles but practically no service history since new. I’m just starting my research on a 996TT so appreciate all opinion.

I think that is a really nice car at a very good price. Even the black painted wheels are factory. Since it only has 17K miles on it there is not much servicing that would have needed to be done. Get a PPI at a reputable shop and if it checks out buy it.

Really, buy it.

Not a fan of the yellow painted calipers, those should only be on a PCCB equipped car. The airbag has been replaced with a non-leather airbag, could be a sign of an accident. Not many people would change a leather airbag for vinyl by choice.

Could be the leather one was getting lumpy ? Most I've seen are lumpy due to age/sun exposure etc

I wouldn’t mind the yellow calipers if it was OEM optioned that way; which this one isn’t. That’s a deduct. Otherwise looks to be a really solid investment Mezger

What a great catch! Losing the matching stitching on the original airbag is one thing, I also can’t think of a logical reason for it to be replaced by a vinyl one at 17k miles other than a collision. I emailed the dealer. Doubt they will have an answer or want to disclose.
