Wife would like to add a convertible to the stable and wants an automatic. I came across this, which is somewhat local: https://www.westherr.com/inventory/u...b299x4s676258/ Assume there is some deferred maintenance, which I'd have my Indy take care of. A quick search seems to suggest it is priced OK, but I'm not as familiar with the 996 market. Any thoughts or specific areas I should be concerned about?
Low mileage, looks okay, get a PPI done and see what the previous damage was.
Decent price for condition and low miles. Check the rear spoiler hydraulics operation and both window regulators. Aside from that the Mezgers are fairly immortal

54K for a low mileage 996 Turbo is seductive. But....how are the tires? Battery? Fluids? Water pump? Alternator? Brakes? Coils and plugs? According to the carfax, it's been serviced a few times at a Hyundai dealer. It doesn't take a genius to change the oil on these cars, but did they put the correct oil in it? Does the ATF need changed? Front diff fluid? Serp belt? Motor mounts? Has the front bumper been removed and the radiators cleaned out recently? And of course the looming coolant pipe issue. 54K plus sales tax, etc., plus a potential big service bill if you can't do these things yourself adds up. Suddenly you are pushing 70K. The 996 Turbo is an incredibly robust and reliable Porsche, but even low mileage cars need serviced based on age.
I'd agree that's likely a scam. Unless it had 200k miles, was a Tip, was a salvage/write-off AND a flood car, and maybe even then it might be more than 30k.
