Anyone in the New York (Westchester County area) with this kit. I'd love to listen to it and maybe go for a quick spin.

I totally trust kevin and run his first stage tune. I am just sensitive to noise.

Cheers,
Andy

Andy, if you are sensitive to noise. Stay with the factory dual mass. My reply is based off of years of selling these kits.

I just bought mine from Kevin and had it installed a couple of weeks ago by Dan Jacobs in CT.

So far I have 220 street miles on it and am still in break in period. I think it feels pretty close to stock, even with the LWFW. I.e., it isn't any more difficult to drive even when getting started from a standstill on a 20 to 30 degree hill. It does make a bit more noise but to me it's not that noticeable, comes and goes at idle up to about 2K RPM. The chatter makes the car sound a little more visceral.

All that said, since i'm in the clutch break in period, I have driven it pretty gingerly and have not had it above 4K rpm or .4 bar so have not felt any performance improvement or increased responsiveness. I have another 200 miles to go before I can push it a bit.

Question for others with this set up, how long did you break it in over and what parameters did you observe? When did your throttle feel more responsive during break-in or afterwards? Can you feel it in the seat of the pants?

Tx

Sachs recommends a 350 to 400 mile break in for the clutch kits. Normal daily driving and trying to refrain from WOT high torque runs... Be patient and get your miles in... You will quickly find out the REV ramp rate...

RS 4.0 LWFW makes a huge difference in throttle response and rev rate. Night and day. And I've actually come to enjoy the rattle. Quiet is boring!

Big +1 for Kevin, too. He's as responsive & helpful as it gets.

This kit is awesome. I purchased from Kevin a month or so ago. I got my miles in, then flashed with Kevins software. Wow what a difference. The clutch is super smooth even with a GT2 conversion. Kevin knows his stuff, so I doubt you could find a better kit. This will be the only clutch system I will ever have the need to run, its that good. Buy this, its worth every penny.

Hey Kevin ill be coming for one of these in a few weeks when it gets closer to me heading back to Canada.

How is the LWFW for keeping idle ? will I need to retune to keep it going or is it not insanely light. I just remember lWFW from back in my days of turbocharged Nissan skylines and how it was a nightmare trying not to stall them lol

One needs to apply more throttle input.

Stalling will happen if you have a intake leak, and/or if your DME crank sensor "air gap" is too wide. I would re-adjust to factory specs which is 1.0mm

The ECU is fast enough to compensate.

Kevin,

how much for for this Kit? What other maintenance items do you recommend while doing a clutch besides rear main seal?

Have had the GT2 clutch slave conversion done.

The kit is $2445.00 Larger plastic side intake.turbo tube kit (good to do with the tranny out), GT2/GT3 slave conversion kit (drill bell housing method). Repack your CV joints/stub axles.

kevin are you talking about the crank sensor at the flywheel? im having a no start issue with crank faults but i dont see any way to adjust the sensor. 1mm from tip of sensor to the flywheel?
