Is this the water pump or something else? You can hear it best at the end of the 24 second video, rattles when accelerating.
Thanks for taking time to listen and comment.

Got to my post 123 (I think) and post your oil change info...
Usually when you waterpump is failing you will see the white coolant traces around the water pump.

Tim I don't hear it. It's sounds like chain noise and gear train.. What oil weight and how many miles do you have on this oil? When you have a pulley or tensioner going, you usually hear a high pitch whine..

68.000 and M1 0-40w 1200 miles on current oil change, this noise is new just started today. I am used to the normal turbo rattly idle. Just put a mechanics stethoscope on the pump and it actually sounds ok, little metallic swooshing that's it, did notice when I was under the car that the waste gate arm does rattle a little, small intermittent squeal from a upper pulley , maybe the idler, kinda strange, maybe a heat shield or something is loose. I will try and get a video with sound when driving so the acceleration noise can be heard. Have had this car over 9 years now, and it is usually extremely smooth. Did you notice how the pump pulley seems a little wobbly in the video, never really looked at the pulley before so this may be normal? I have a Porsche tech looking at it Tuesday just as a precaution as I have some long distance to do soon. Beginning to feel like an automotive hypochondriac, LOL Probably should just turn up the stereo and just drive.
