Kevin,
I received my unit the other day. Is there any DIY threads to install it. How difficult would it be to do it yourself.
Thanks again,
Al Z

Does the SSK present an issue for people that do not track their cars?

Has there been any issues with the SSK on a 997? Most of the issues I have seen on the forums are with 996s.

If you get anxious when you shift, you risk bending the shift forks..

Put another way, if you speed shift the 997SSK or ANY SSK you risk a tranny
rebuild.. SEEN IT, DONE IT BEEN THERE..

If you can bench press over 250 lbs and are HAM fisted, you will shorten the
life of your gearbox. It will manifest into 2nd and/or 3rd gear popping out.

If you want SAFE go with the GT3.. If you want to take a risk go with the
SSK. I also feel that the 997SSK is more notchy shifting across the GATE..

Question, why wouldn't Porsche install a 997SSK with aluminum billet guts in
there flagship 997 GT3 and 997GT3RS?????

How aggressive are you when you shift? The 997SSK has short throws.. It's more notchy and less smooth vs the 997GT3 shifter. I own them both and when I get around to it, I'll be removing the SSK.
