The Pirellis came on the car from the factory - they were very noisy. I would never consider them again.
The Michelin's sidewalls are not as stiff as I would like. I didn't consider the AD07s to be good enough to change to them when I got my last set of Michelins. Now that the AD08s are out, they deserve a look.
I spend way more time enjoying the turn-in and cornering of my Turbo than I do high speeds. My designated performance driver doesn't spend much (if any) time above 100 mph, but spends lots of time enjoying the steering of the car.

couldn't agree more re turn in. top speed is less important to me also. i enjoyed the pirelli's, i ran them twice, very solid tire, i thought... i also drive canyons mostly, and as such, don't really hear tire noise. only on freeways at speed.
forgive my ignorance.. what's "designated perf driver"? does someone other than you, track your car?

I drive Interstates frequently, and of course take trips in my Turbo that require motoring for long periods at +70 mph. If I want to get back quickly from a mountain drive, I can chose to cruise on a freeway/Interstate. I'm aware of noises even with my EP2 Loud...

just wondering, what's your primary driving style or condition? i feel i need a tough street tire, that twists well. are they it? half price ps2's are going the way of the dodo bird.

same car/color as eddie van halen's circa 96/97 we used to play mulholland together. ![rockon](https://rennlist.com/forums/graemlins/rockon.gif)

Recently purchased this set of Yoko AD08's and they are an awesome tire. Better than the Kumho's but much more expensive. Not as expensive as Michelin.

so has any one tried the Advan A048's? Ratings are higher for speed and lbs? 60 A A less than PS Cups, R888's and NT01"S. Anybody try these on a heavy turbo for the track?

i'm leaning toward trying the yoko ad08's especially if the rears can be rotated side to side. my only complaint with the ps2's i always run is when my right rear wears before my left inside. it's not an alignment thing, it's just my power down
left hand sweepers. as it is, i'm changing rears every six months. at least with the ad08's maybe i could squeeze another few k miles out of the rears. the tirerack review was encouraging.
but then ya can't go wrong with michelins, but i guess the 315/30 isn't available on the mich SS series? just the ps'2's. if i get the yoko's and don;t like 'em, i'm stuck with new fronts! which usually last me two to one vs rears. ha! the little things...

do you remember what the set cost you? i think i'm at least 1700.00? a set with the ps2's roughly. before mounting etc.
