Default EVOMS GT2 slave kit v. Drill/Tap method?

Since my engine and transmission is going to be out I was planning on having the EVOMS GT2 slave kit installed. I've seen write ups where guys have drilled and tapped the gearbox and installed the slave in the same location as on the GT2/3 which would also require purchasing a new clutch fork. My question is, from a function or durability standpoint, is there any difference or advantage in performance by doing the dril/tap method v. the EVOMS kit which has everything including the lengthened rod? I'm trying not to overcomplicate things.

Thx....

Issue is discussed at the tail-end of this thread. Some pics of drill/tap.

Thank you. I just looked at that and I'm trying to figure out what one of the posters is referring to when he states that the EVOMS conversion can slip and break the clutch fork and plate. I'd like to get this done right but I don't want to needlessly overcomplicate things just for the sake of doing it as the factory did if there is an equally effective mousetrap.

MiKelly is a very knowledgable poster, I would pay attention to what he has to say
you might just PM him. It might take a while to get a reply, but he will

How do you know that your Fork doesn't need to be replaced? Strong chances that it does need to be replaced if you have over 50K on the clock.
