honestly I didn’t use it much, not really needed. Once the cosmoline is emulsified it’s just a matter of having enough different size and stiffness of detail brushes. Under the front plastic windage tray are a couple coolant lines that run under the tranny, those just clip off the brackets and I removed the brackets for easier accessibility.

This is what I have, someone mentioned that the air scoops that rise up and onto the sides of tranny was a
rare piece. I could not confirm. Looksike you’ve gone down this road. Do you have any insights on this?

I think they all have the 2 scoops that rise up to the sides of the trans on the 996TT.. i broke one at the track that had those, and the replacement I bought from a random ebay listing had them as well...

I did some research on the full underbody a while back, here are your part numbers:

underbody-

front:
99750452702 (gt2) same as c2 **no vents for front differential**
99750452701 (turbo) same as c4 **has vents for front differential**

middle:
99750404300 (center) same with all 997s
99750434303 (driver) " "
99750434403 (passenger) " "

middle rear:
99750402900 (turbo) same as carrera
99750462992 (gt2) unique piece

far rear:
99750442901 (same for all 997s)

Then there are brake cooling ducts that attach into the 997 undertray you can get as well that go with it, but I haven't done this yet so they may require some trimming of fender liner..

Rear ducts from undertray:
99757518300 (driver air duct)
99757518400 (passenger air duct)

thanks for the undertray info I'll check into this as I may switch panels when it comes time to replacing. Ive already replaced the rears once..

the cosmoline doesn't bother most, Ive always removed it as soon as I take delivery. from what Ive heard porsche has discontinued from spraying it on the newer models. not for everyone and not recommended unless your a nuts and bolt kinda person. when ever Ive had other techs wrenching on my car they seem to like it sans cosmo.

Perhaps this will only appeal to the OCD crowd, but I got this handy tool bag at Home Depot that seems as if it was designed to fit in the glovebox. I put everything that was ratting around in the glovebox in the bag instead. Let that pen explode in the bag instead of soiling the glovebox! It makes it much easier to search for things from the driver's seat as you can just pull it out (well, unless you're driving I guess), and makes it very easy to empty out the glovebox for track days, leaving the car with at the shop or parking in a sketchy locations, etc. And it has a handy place to keep your PCA card. I do leave the barf bag outside the case for easy access!

Looks like a perfect fit.

It depends on the specific OC disorder....I don't keep anything in my glovebox.

While my engine is out, I started the process of degreasing and cleaning it up..... it looks worlds better but not 100% yet so I don't want to show it off.

Nope, I have an '02. I just don't keep anything in my glovebox. Then again, I don't keep anything in my cubbyhole in the center stack, and the only thing in my center console covered compartment is my garage remote. I do though keep a micro fiber cloth in the driver's side door compartment. So all in, the only things I keep in my interior are a garage remote and a micro fiber cloth.

Ah my mistake.

Nice repertoire, necessities and nothing else.I keep my microfiber and quick detailer in the "frunk" in a small travel bag. Phone charger in the center console and I don't have the glovebox or center stack cubby. Registration and proof of insurance in the driver's door compartment. I hate having cluttered storage compartments and interior in general.

We're of like mind.

Here in Georgia we are not required to carry proof of insurance or registration, so I don't. When I travel out of state I carry both.

Very nice. I am actually from Georgia, grew up in Peachtree City area. Sometimes I miss it; family is still there although further south now.

Any connections with the major airline based in Atlanta? Lots of employees live in the Peachtree City area.

My best friend lives in Fayetteville. He also has a farm down in Roberta that I like to visit. Nice country down that way. Not many curvy roads, but not much traffic either (off the Interstate and south of Peachtree City).
