hey guys so I finally got myself my dream car. I always loved the turbo but I was scared because of the age etc so I got a cayman S instead.. well last december I got into an accident and since then I started looking for a turbo, it took me 4 months to find what I wanted and it was on the other side of the country so I jumped on a plane and went to get it

here is my first porsche

Ok so now to the problem... My car has a problem with MAF sensors. When it starts to build boost on high gears the car throws codes the car is running strong but I want to have this resolved. I was told to go with a hitachi MAF and different tune but is this what I really need?

These are some of the mods currently on the car:

GT28 hybrid turbos
Giac 650 tune (For the speed gallery 650 kit)
Cargraphic exhaust, 100 cell cats, and headers
Plenun and larger throtle body
FVD intakes piping
custom wastegates
custom fuel pump
RWD conversion
GT2 clutch

here are some logs I did today, at iddle and on 3rd gear from 2500rpm to 6500rpm

What codes are you throwing? Looks like you've got a boost control problem.

Renn 951 I think hit it right on the head. P1255 (230) Boost Pressure Characteristic, Upper Valve Exceeded -- Above Limit.

Posslble fault causes (Fault corrections/Fixes).

Leakage at pressure hoses from frequency valve to the bypass. (Replace pressure hoses or eliminate leaks.)

Frequency valve faulty. (Check frequency valve and replace if bad.)

Vacuum modulators [Diverter Valves?] for bypass flaps leaking. (Replace if bad.)

Bypass flags incorrectly adjusted. (Check adjustment of bypass flaps and adjust if necessary.)

Sincerely,

Macster.

Thank you so much for the info, I was looking around and found a DIY boost leak test. Do you think I might find the fault if I do that?

This looks like a programming issue. Your boost is exceeding the requested boost from ECU. OR the wastegate actuators are adjusted to tight.

Can you log your injector duty cycle, try to run 3rd gear to redline and shift into 4th and run it to 5000RPM's..

Can you shut down your virus protection on your datalogging runs. You need to speed up your computer!

You have a Boost Control deviation above or below "limit"

Your boosting way above the requested N75.

I need to see what your N75 is doing.

I am posting the link to my new Datalogger>>

https://rennlist.com/forums/996-turb...ger-debut.html

You can scroll to the posts where I have listed the values to log. We need to log the Wastegate "duty" cycle or N75 which is controlled by the ECU.

Just save yourself time, money, heartache and and just reflash your car with the UMW tune now (i.e. Kevin's tune).
