Default New High Speed Data Logger Debut

I let the cat out of the bag in an earlier thread. As many of my customers know, I like to have logs supplied to me to make sure your engine and tuning is running safe and correct for your conditions. Octane and climate changes effect your engines performance. But what happens when you lose a fuel pump? With the 996TT it is usually a split fuel hose that will siphon/bleed fuel away from injectors.

AFR's, injector duty cycle %, and knock is critical information that is needed in real time. Selecting RPM, and AFR's and boost doesn't give you enough data worth the space saved on the hard drive. Once you start to select 12 to 16 values the samples per second start to dive to a snails pace with MOST current logging systems in the marketplace.

Here is a recent screenshot of the system loaded and running on my laptop.

When you click on LIVE DATA you will be brought to a new screen that will show you values that you have ticked. For me the "single" most important option for this logger is the indivual Knock Retard that is NOW a option. Depending on your computer RAM memory we can now see logging 5 times quicker than what was previously reached.

I'll add some more data and info a bit later.

Will it make my Durametric obsolete? How much?

Looks fantastic! Interested here. Pricing? What about those of us that have more than 1 car?

Let us know when you will have it listed for sale and a listing of those things that it will do.

BTW, the aesthetic side of the product is really nice.

Thanks guys for the support. Final pricing has not been determined, target cost is around $400.00 I'm trying to gauge the initial production hardware run. With that said, if you guys that are interested with the logger, please email me and let me know.

Pete95zhn, Durametric has been a great tool for all of us. This tool has a more performance oriented/specific market. For myself, having individual knock retard is worth the investment in this tool. Folks with 91 octane are really at a disadvantage. When your ECU is fighting the advance mapping> performance suffers. Continued detonation will destroy your engine. If I was running Meth/water injection I would want the knock detection to be running 24/7.

LVDell, the unit will be able to log around 20 ECU sensor values at extremely high rates. Infact Excel and the screen refresh rate cannot keep up with the streaming data. You will be able to Read, and clear all of the engine CEL's. There will be some nice built in functions like setting preset RPM REV limits, and for you guys that TRACK your car, a rear O2 delete RACE track mode.

This tool is NOT just for the Turbo guys. It is very benificial for those that have GT3's or tuned NA 996's 997's and Caymans. You can quickly see if your performance file is running at it's maximum SAFE level.

Over the years, I have received requests to add display units like DashDaq or Trakmate systems. A data output module is in the works to provide a data display similar to what RxPorsche has mentioned. For myself, engine data logging is a MAJOR benifit for tuning, and actually seeing what you engine is doing. This unit will be calibrated to give you YOUR engine torque and HP..

Kevin, Would this replace or augment a durametric unit? Could you do what a durametric unit can do in getting codes, reset , etc?

The code reading and code resetting is a small portion of what this tool does. One nice thing that "I" will supply is the actaul PORSCHE DTC service manual so that those that purchase this tool will have the factory descriptions and service recommendations as to HOW to repair the tripped or pending CEL.

I assume that it'll be plugged in to the OBD port, right? If yes, a plug that's either very low or in 90 deg angle would be a must. Logging now with Durametric is a real PITA because of plug location and size.
Best solution would be a plug of it's own somewhere in center console.

The tool will have a slim 90 degree OBD2 port connector.

if that's doable, something to disable the wing warning would be nice for us with fixed wings
