Default Stock Intake or AfterMarket (Fabspeed)

Hi Guys, need some advice/opinion:

I bought my car with both, Intake & Exhaust Fabspeed already installed. Looks like the Engine will performs better with the Original Stock Intake box rather than with my aftermarket, Fabspeed Intake. I was told to replace my aftermarket with stock ones.... IM DOING SO....

PLEASE give me Ur Advice/Opinion.....

You received the advice to replace the aftermarket intake with the stock one and by someone who claimed the stock intake would perform better than the aftermarket intake and you must have some trust in what this person told you cause you're doing the changeover.

About all I can add to this advice -- and my hunch is it is good advice -- is make sure you do the aftermarket intake to stock intake switchover correctly and then drive the car. Alot.

Sincerely,

Macster.

My advice would be to get a Durametric and log data before and after the changeover. Data don't lie.

He is running the exposed flat panel intake. It is sucking all the engine heat with ZERO cold air entering the MAF...

Hey Kevin, How about an agency power intake? Do you also recommend to change to the stock one?

^That's the one I'm running.

Yep, that design doesn't make any sense at all.

Agency power also makes a retrofit kit that uses the back of the original airfilter housing, adds another intake for a total of two, called dual flow. They use the original filter size. No inside air drawn in. They have three versions starting @$450

Keep it if you have big turbos / with inlet pipes, if not it is doing more harm then good. This works well with a GT2 tail that has been modified to open both sides.

Best advice is to keep your stock intake.. If you have large turbochargers I do have a solution but already have large injectors and are making over 600 wheel HP..

Go look at the factory 997TT. Cold air has to enter the airbox. You can mimic the 997TT airbox by cutting a extra hole in the factory box. However, you need to fabricate another duct from your rear wing to the box. You CANNOT have engine heat migrating into the airbox.

There are very little gains with aftermarket filters > stay with the Mahle original filter element! If you want to have more power>torque> change your turbocharger inlet pipes/ducts.

Kevin: stock intake allready back in place !!!

K&N = no gain and potentially toasted MAF sensor, stick with stock

To clarify.. Do not use K&N or BMC oil filters.. Use the stock Porsche (made by Mahle) air filter.

The factory Mahle filter is very good, it is very large with alot of surface area.
