Geez...that sounds like a great price....which one is the recommended one....I see there are threw with the same numerical designation, however the $4.95 one is platinum. Is there any advantage of having the platinum one? I usually swap out at around 10-15000 miles....but last time around I ended up installing the Beru's.

I've not gone wrong following Kevin's advice; I'd stick with the exact Bosch one

Just ordered the plugs. Still have a question about whether my car only having 17,000 miles needs coil packs and cam solenoid bracket changing?
Got an email from partsgeek that the plugs are back ordered for about 2 weeks.

Some of the recommendations fall within the time honored category of "since you're in there"....but geez with 17K miles....I think I'd be tempted to do a plug change, have the coil packs closely inspected along with the variocam brackets....and call it a day. You could always order all the parts just to have them on hand, and return the unused stuff that wasn't required after the inspection. Go thru Jeff at Sunset...he's cool and will work with you.
Now some of the folks are liable to holler about the ...might as well do it....but I also don't see the need to spend unnecessary money replacing something that's perfectly good. If it works, don't fix it.

I believe the bracket in question was called a "tappet solenoid bracket", when I ordered it. It is either cracked and visibly broken or in good working order. One of mine broke at about 35,000 miles, the other side has 90,000+ miles and is still fine.
Another symptom of a bad coil is rough running when cold, followed by smoother running, once the car warms up.

Anyone have a picture of the tappet solenoid bracket or where it's located? I want to have a look next time it's up on the lift.
No idling issues when the car is cold. I think I probably just need to change my plugs. Any other good place to buy the FR6-LDC plugs?

LARRY:
Do a search in the forum for "Missing on cyl 4,5,6" and in post #27, Loren posts an exploded diagram of where the bracket is, then in post #30 Bob posts an actual picture of a broken bracket. Search is your friend.
Good luck in chasing down the problem.

Larry,
Sounds like he's sourcing from another distributor.
Just do a web search and call around; someone will have them on the shelf.

Jaime: GREAT pictures guy....shows everything he needs...where they are, what they look like, and most importantly...that you don't need to buy the whole solenoid...just the bracket. Good find and one that should be saved off for future reference because this subject comes up now and then.
