Default K16/24ZC vs K24 Hyflow

Here we go again. Another K16 vs K24 thread.
Views and comments appreciated of these two options, why would someone go for one over the other? (Note, car already has a EP S2 fitted).
Option 1.K16 based, UMW K16/24 Zero Clearance with matching UMW tune.
Option 2. K24 based, with UMW Hyflow Turbine wheel with matching UMW tune & waste gate upgrade.

Are you keeping the stock K24 compressor wheel with the K24 Hyflow turbine wheel?

I would luv the new 997 GT2 compressor wheel in combination with the Hyflow turbine using the K24 base. I am exploring options which allow me an upgradable package but starting at lower price point. I realize power equals fuel hence the need for new injectors & MAF solution.
What is the max hp/torq you could expect from a K24 UMW Hybrid (without new injectors & MAF solution). How would this compare with a K16/24 ZC.

Kevin, re your question .For the sake of comparison the answer is yes….unless you have a smarter path forward.

I'm not going to release the larger K24 Hybrids without fueling.. To much airflow and not enough fuel available. If you inlet temps start to climb (Aussie heat) and you start to knock there isn't enough fuel reserve to flood the cylinders. If you stick a injector = burnt valve/broken ring land..

For your option #2 comparision...I sent Kevin a set of K24's which he put his hyflow turbines matched to k26 compressor wheels. I should be able to give impressions and numbers in a week or two, as I am waiting there arrival any day. UMW tune, billet wastegates, 5 bar FPR and billet backplate are also part of the upgrade. I've made 0-60 and 1/4 mile runs to get baseline #'s(timed by g-meter) and will get dyno'd before and after the swap.

I am coming from stock k16's with only a Speedtech exhaust and DV's. Should be a big bump in HP, torque and times!

Kevin has been helpful and certainly very knowledgable.

Thanks Pilot996, look forward your impressions / numbers.

Kevin : This package sounds interesting...can you please expand on the pilot996 package..( K24's, Hyflow Turbines matched with K26 compressor wheels, UMW Tune, Billet wastegates, 5 bar FPR, Billet backplate). No mention of injectors.

Mark, you called me and we talked about this.. Are you wanting a turbocharger that you can upgrade with or not? If you are "never" wanting to add injectors then this is a option. This is a Stage 2 kit fitted to the the K24's with a few upgrades.

Mark:

I sent you a PM response before I saw you posted this on the forum, instead of PM to me. Update on status.

K24 based plus fuel and Kevin's programming.

K16's are too wimpy.

Good luck
