oak.. mad power. always...
Seriously tho Jon good job on the DIY. I remember doing this intake on a customer's gt2 a while back (04?) and we had to get a lil' creative with the rear 335s and clearance but we did some suspension tweaks... Sounded neat from what I remember.
Good luck on the mph and 1/4 mile stuff. Be nice to the clutch

Thanks, Alex. This was a great way to spend a good portion of the winter and makes the thought of some spring test runs very exciting! I think I am addicted to modding...

John That looks awesome and so much more functional than some of the other kits out there!

The reason I removed the kit is that we could not get the car to run to my satisfaction with the Ford MAF, which is part of this system. Todd and I tried multiple files over a 2-3 month period and it just wasn't happening. I then tested an EPL / Bosch MAF tune and it resolved the running issues and I went with it. Many seem to like this Proto kit, but my car did not react well to it, so I sidestepped to a package that suited me better (all the same hardware, except the intake style, but with OEM Bosch MAF and the appropriate tuning). That said, I enjoyed the installation process, as I learned a lot about my car and the mechanics of the entire intake system from the turbos to throttle body. It taught me about the full 70mm intake system and in the end resulted in my designing a 70mm OEM style Y-Pipe with 75mm opening that can simulate the Proto flow, while retaining the OEM style intake. It was a fantastic learning experience.
