OAK your car would crush a C5 Z06 on a track. A C6 would do well for a while but after 20 minutes the brakes roast. Not to mention the 12 pads for the front.

Let's leave the Z06 out of this thread...nice car, different in a lot of ways....great buy on a lot of levels, and with LeMans success in its pedigree.....give the car respect .... I have a 996TT and prefer it. That is me...

Anyway, I had a 993 and miss the "rawness" of it, but for a dd, the 996tt rules. It feels more modern in a lot of good and bad ways, that is all.

Two architecture students walked up to me at the local dealer and asked if my car was the 998....seriously.... I think the 996 looks good now in a way the 997 cannot because they tried so hard to copy the 993 elements.

Almost like the 996 was more evolved from a designer point of view... Don't get me wrong, I would love the turbos of the 7 and the build in the interior, but I like the front of my 6 better....more unique if you will....roast away.

+1 Porsche should have left the "retro" look to the chrysler, GM and Ford builders. I have a older Porsche for the "old" look and a 996TT for the new look.

+1. One more point, On top of 996TT interior being more modern than the 993TT, I actually also prefer the 996TT interior to 997TT - don't ask me why – more curves I suppose – this retro - going back to go forward really is the weirdest design concept Porsche could come up with. And the stop watch option on the dash is just abysmal...

...but the one thing I would never give up; is the view of my rear spoiler coming up so I can see it - gone in a 997TT. :-)

Yes the SC wart on my dash is an abomination, I can't stand it.

+1 on the "996 over 997" interior issue. I just love the look of the 996 dash, specially with the CF additions. Something was lost on the 997, IMHO.

I couldn't agree more. I really don't like the "squared off" look of the 997 interior, including the more "vertical" presentation of the dash.

I would swap mine 996TT for the 997TT... interior design and materials in that car, imho, is far better than ours.

I have had both, I chose the 996tt due to being a little bit more comfy. I want to drive a "rowdy" Porsche Turbo I drive my 965. RWD, raw as hell. I like it much better than the 993tt as far being a "drivers" car

I LOVE the 996TT...its shape is pure sex to me and it is easily the best looking of the 996's. It's an engineering marvel in every way. Of course the 993TT is a beauty too but I'm looking for a used 996TT because there are simply more of them with lower miles and lower prices. I will hang on to my beautiful low miles eurospec 85 Carrera when I have the hankering for an air cooled spin

"The best thing to compare 993 Turbo to Kate Moss; she may have trouble at times and she can be expensive, but she will always be beautiful"
