No Special marking for x50 package... why not?
Does anyone know why there is no special marking on the Turbo x 50 that says "X50" on the back of the car? You'd think that for that expensive of an optioin Porsche would of made some sort of visual change, or marking. What have you guys done to make your x50 stand out? gotta make it look special

Who really cares? Personally, I know mine is an X50 by the way it drives. I don't see the need to put every option on an exterior badge. What's next, all leather interior or white dial faces? Maybe, the number after the "turbo" script should be the sticker price.
I do understand the "label on the outside" power. Ergo all those crappy knock-off LV bags, Rolex watches, and Prada shoes. To me, the car I drive only has to satisfy me, not tell people what I paid. AS

If you think of Porsche in general (maybe even German culture)...they are not that big on badges and emblems...and bling. The whole idea of badging I think is mostly marketing...maybe US marketing. One of the things I like best about mine is it just has the traditional turbo script...no Porsche, 911, or anything else. If you got the X50...you kind of have the sleeper...with the S we know what you got.

I agree. In Europe, most people.....and I mean almost everyone, order there cars WITHOUT any badges. They don't want to show off there wealth by advertising what they can afford. No personalized plates either!

these are all really interesting to read so keep up the posts... Most people where i live look at one Porsche, and think there all the same. if it says turbo on the back of the car or not makes no difference to them. Just to the fellow turbo owner

Why no badge
Everyone knows the car is a Porsche. Many people know enough about Porsche's to know that a Turbo is one of the more expensive models - amongst a line of nice expensive cars they cannot (or willnot) afford. Some of these people are in a position to make my life more difficult. I do not want to give them any more ammo than they already have.
Those who know the car, know what it is without the badges, those who don't - won't. Did the same thing with my M5. Most people had no clue what it was. Just another ***** with a BMW.
