Anyone have the 997 TT's rims (19s) on their 996TT? If yes, can you post pics? Spacers needed? Anyone else consider dong it and decided against it? Why?

Call Wheel Enhancement. They often get 997TT take offs with tires. They indicated they will fit a 996TT. I not sure how they will fit on a ROW X73 car? Was the X73 on your car when you bought it?

Thanks Duane, I'll look into it. I put the x73 on the car. Will that be a problem for 19s? I thought plenty of guys have 19s with the x73? Thanks

one of the guys in the 93TT section has them on his 993TT !!


as a side note, Porsche also offer them in narrow body offset for 997's
we have them on our 997S cab

i havnt had any problems no fender bending or rubbing or anything, no need for any mods i dont even use spacers i also went through the factory 305 30 19 tires on the rear after about 3k miles and have upgraded to 315 25 19 and even with the wider tire no problem at all

I hope you don't mind me asking... but 3000 miles? Yipes. I have Pirelli Assimetricos: 255x30x19 and 305x25x19 on my car and I have about 10k miles on them and it looks like the rears will be good for another 5k, at least. Fronts look like they will outlast me! What brand of tires are you wearing out so fast? Do you have an unsual alignment? What are your tires sizes (both front and rear)?

BTW, your car is looking good!

i have michelin ps2 i guess its my driving, i have had the car aligned 3 times in the last 8 months, once at the dealer after i got the new wheels, then i had h & R springs, and i decided to replace the rear springs with factory ride height another alignment, since the indentation on my tranny tunnel from my short shift kit would hit speed bumps and knock the shifter out of place, then i said the hell with this and after much clicks and clanks from thre rear suspension and as advised by my fellow rennlisters i upgraded to billstein, another alignment, but the shop set it too low and my tranny tunnel would again rub and hit over speed bumps so i took it back and they raised the rear 1 1/2 inch so now its fine and i think they did an alignment again after, how many is that i lost count. anyways my fronts are 235 35 19 and rear are now 315 25 19, i just put new ones on the rear and i am now waiting to see what happens, but i think i ll go back to bridgestone, or maybe pirelli, by the way my fronts are in perfect shape, and like you they may outlive me and i am 27 years old, i had bridgestones on my old factory turbo twists and was very satisfied with the performance, i guess the michelins don't last very long, i dont even track my car, but i drive it hard

Well, I'm frankly very surprised by your answers... as I'm sure you are. The PS2s have a great rep, and if your fronts are wearing well... gulp, I hate to say this, but I'm wondering if its possible the alignment has never been right. Was there any unusual wear pattern on the worn-out rears? Bald on the inside edges on both? Any "feathering" of the remaining tread? Bald in the centers? What sort of tire pressure do you use? Oh... I just realized that we're hijacking this thread. You can email me at ca993twin@yahoo.com, or just start a new thread on the 993TT forum and get some other ideas. I don't think you need to live with that crazy wear with those expensive tires!

Im running Zone ones with more offset than the PCNA 19". They are very close to the wheel well even at US running height. Thinking I'll play it safe with ROW M030 springs and struts...but I'm sure hooked on the x73 package look/.

ROW M30 = meh
Running the car lower than X73 will give you more negative chamber, and actually tuck the tyres nicely inside the guard

Downside is having to be dilligent in swapping tyres left to right every 3000mls
