Default 996 Turbo for Sale - great car/price

No Affiliation... but Crown BMW, in Charlottesville, VA(www.bmwcharlottesville.com) is selling a very nice 03 996TT, seal grey with black interior, offered at 69K (original sticker 122k). 14K miles.

http://www.bmwcharlottesville.com/us...oryId=16686046

Crown BMW used to be a Porsche Dealer, but recently went BMW only.

I test drove the car at length and it is in excellent condition. It was a locally owned c'ville car. Definitely a good buy. Contact over there is at Rick, 434-245-4100.

Good Luck, Ross

Bought mine from them Mid-February...

I'll caution anyone buying from Crown to plan for a pre-service inspection. I wished I'd had the car put in the air before I bought it... My oil drain plug has rounded shoulders, and the "brake bleed" service included in the 15K mile service done on my car days before I bought it was an issue this past weekend at the track... I'm less than impressed with their service, and will likely deal with another dealership when excercising my extended warranty coverage.

Love my black 2001TT, and I looked at that Seal grey stock 2003TT and should have test driven it. They've lowered the price $5K since Mid-February, so it sounds like they're really wanting to move it. And I'd certainly "look" at it... But Don't let them Roadblock the car... take it to Richmond BMW and get it done for $400 less through them. And by all means, have a pre-purchase independant inspection done by a 3rd party.

It is absolutely a turbo and not a GT2. I got lured into their dealership two months ago because of that same ad. It's also still the same exact car. I have a relative who is at UVA hospital and we're driving there weekly, and that car is the same car that's been there since February. It's a 2003 Turbo (Non-X50). Gorgious car... just not a GT2.

Just drove past the dealership again, today, in the rain. We went to UVA to visit my sister-inlaw and the car is still sitting there... Gorgious car by the way... GREAT price too... I belive it has 13K miles on it if memory serves me correctly...

Contact the guys over at CDOC... They used to be in Charlottesville, but are up the street in Gordonsville now. They should be able to recommend a third party... Also, Let me add that when I went to drive the car I eventually bought, it was cold as hell, and snow on the ground... Although I commented negatively about what I found of the car's condition after the fact, It all falls back on me and the choice I made... I am still glad I bought the car, but would recommend better weather conditions than when I went and bought mine... It would have allowed me to be on better footing to challenge things like the lower rocker plastics that were beat to hell, and the few scratches I found on the car, along with the roadblock install that has trash trapped under the application... All these are small things I've been addressing one by one...Just installed the new lower rocker plastics last night.

That 2003 for $69K is a really strong deal, just make sure you're going to get clear eyes on it... After driving mine, it was "double vision and where's the checkbook!" I guess driving a 600BHP car will do that to you.

Good luck and tell Darhma (Sales guy with the Lotus) I said Hey!

They finally replied to my email today & said, "Yes, it is AWD", so I informed them that it was NOT a GT2 as they have it listed....

Crown BMW in Charlottesville is absolute crap to deal with. Their service department is useless and totally overpriced, my TT isn't going back their again. I'm not surprised they lost their P car dealership.

Hi all,

I am close to pulling the trigger on this car. I am remote and going on the dealer setup PPI. Could someone look up the porsche service records for the car for me if I supplied the VIN? Any deal that looks reasonable makes me a little cautious. I suppose I should really fly out and look it over.

The only info you can get with a VIN number is warranty work performed, not service work unless you find the Dealer who did it.
