I'm not sure any are delivered yet. I've asked my dealer about this, and was told that they (Lynch Porsche in Chicago)have yet to see one. Mine's coming in March (I'm told), so let me know. Thanks. AS

Jeff-

Is your car a Tip or 6 speed? I have a 6 speed with X50 coming in from Claridges in about 2 months. What dealership did you use? Thanks.

Ok to answer some of your questions.
I bought the 996 X50 from Stevens Creek in sanjose. OUTSTANDING dealership. I usually hate car dealers but these guys are a class act. I also paid 143K then 10K over sticker.
Total 153K W/o tax. I picked it up this last sunday. I cant take it over 4K to 4.5K for break in reasons. But WOW!! this car is like my moto cross bike it will were you down it has so much power your fore arms will start to go limp on you. I have owned many many fast cars but the only animal that comes close to this type of 0-60 was my small block 350 chevy in a vega about 400 hp back in the early 80s . My friends after you get your cars be careful this car will get you from point A to B alot faster than your use to trust me. HHMMM fast OH MY GOD!!!! Was it worth 170K after tax hell ya there is simply no substitute oh ya I like the car ha ha.
I think this is going to be the first car I will not modify engine, probablt lower an 1.5" then add stiffer sway bars and a louder exhaust. Thats it!!. And some said that Stevens Creek had a X50 and GT2 not any more I got the X50 YAAAAA.

Sorry that last reply was long winded. Someone asked about X50 and what it is.
I belive and have know proved to myself after crawling under my X50 that its not simply a
EMU tweak. The tt has KK 24 right and GT2 has
KK27 guess those GT2 guys are going to be upset. Yup the x50 has KK27 check it out guys. and the same tranny crawl under both, check it out. HHm 230K for GT2 with 2 wheel drive 462HP or suposively according to a press release by porsche 456 on X50. I rest my case the X50 is a better deal with 4 wheel drive. Acompany is notgoing to modify an existing product like the tt it simply took an existing drive line and transplanted it in a TT and called it X50. Boy those marketing guys are so busted. I could be wrong but I feel 99% on this again just check out the turbos KK24 or KK27 on X50 option. All us X50 guys got over big time. Driving this car is like pushing a warp button and your there mannnn.

The best info I have seen on the X50 is on the Suncoast porsche web site. They have posted a official porsche press release on the X50 and they say 456hp and limited to 46
for Nov build if memory serves me correclty.

I also spoke with the porsche dealership in
menlopark and they will sell a x50 car for MSRP but you will have to wait a few months.
He also said that the x50 will be limited to
around 1 maybe two per dealership.

I will try and post some pics. I speced out the the car when it was being built so I had limitations on what I could add.
I got a silver ext with black int and reallly like the color combo and the nav pack is worth the 3500 do it it even talks to you.
I almost bought a 360 modena then found out ,, oh ya sir its realy frounded on if you drive it more than 3K per year. I said to myself hmm
so Im married to Pam Aderson but, we cant go on the honey moon. Naaa bad deal.
Porsche knows they have a
great product and they stick behind there cars. You get what you pay for most of the time. Yes I drove the modena and loved the
pazzaaazz factor and,, the F1 tranny is to kill for,, that F1 tranny is unbelivable I will give credit to ferrari for that one. but still not worth it, but to each his own. Now Porsche needs to do a Formula 1 style tranny probably next gen turbo at this point ,, 2005.

Question

Jeff,

Congratulations on your new turbo!

A few comments/questions: a regular 996TT (without X50) has KKK16 turbos, GT2 has KKK24 turbos. KKK27 were used on 930's and 965's single turbo engines. Your X50 car has either KKK16 or KKK24 --- could you check please --- we all want to know

While you are there --- under the car that is --- you may want to take a look at the transmission. Does it have an oil radiator like GT2?

Enjoy the car!
