so what are the numbers on the upsolute chip....hp and torque and what revs? How was the driving experience when compared with the stock TT. I just spoke with Lanny in LA and he said it gives you a 100hp gain, wasn't sure what the torque was. I am interested in this chip, however since my TT is a daily driver, while I want an increase in power, I do not want to trade off drivability.....feedback would be greatly appreciated..

thanks in advance

I also have an Upsolute chip and it is awesome. As far as driveability, the car will feel stock until you stomp on it, and then hold on!!!! Stephen, thanks for your help, and when I decide to upgrade you will be the man to call.

topdaytrader, no shops sell Upsolute chips in Los Angeles. All of the installations are done by Lanny Richardson personally. He is the western US representative for Upsolute. He works out of Chino Hills. You can either mail/take the ECU to him, or if you are within a 15-20 minute drive, he will come to you.

He's a great guy. (909)606-4368 is his #. If you talk to him, tell him that Ryan Gaytan sent you.

I to would be very curiuos in the results of the Upsolute install on the X50. So, I'm to understand that this will generate around 100hp/tq bringing the X50 around 550hp? I'm new here so bear with me.

They will use the same program on your ECU as the non-X50. To maximize for your setup, you would need to dyno and send them your A/F, they will then reprogram, they may have an X50 program by now if anyone has done the A/F already. Out of curiosity, did you buy your X50 with the intention of modifying?

I bougt the X50 without the intention of modifying but surfing these boards makes me wanna do stuff to my car. I'm not planning to mess with engine internals or change turbochagers, just a few bolt ons.
I am gonna do an exhaust mainly for sound not performance, maybe headers (shooting flames would be nice), already done B&M, dump valves, K&N, 19" wheels for esthetics.
I am now debating whether I want a full suspension upgrade or just get springs. The peoblem is I had springs on my 01 TT and the ride was too rough. Plus, the labor for the install cost more than the parts!! For the labor price a suspension is more cost effective.
Also, I decided to give the Upsolute a shot. Should be here on Tuesday. I'll put a post on my initial reaction (I als have a friend's stovk non X50 02 TT for comparison :thubsup

Cobra,
No,I had no intentions of really any mods except for appearance for individuality. The motor packs a wallop! The chip would be my only upgrade (for now) to increase the rev/ remove gov. It's just for the streets/weekends.I absolutely love the car!

dpj,the car feels stock until you get on the gas. Lag is not bad even as stock,I think you can't go wrong for 500 bucks.
