Post Pagani Zonda/Saleen S7

Trying to make a decision between these two.

price about =
perfomance about =
looks equally as exotic

Now should the money go into the American or Italian economy?

Odd question on a Porsche forum??

But, since you are asking, I would say......

...neither.

An Enzo or McLaren F1 if you want a non Porsche super car.

Just my $0.02

Neither. How far do you have to drive to get an oil change?

Mclaren F1 has bneen out for a while and its .87g on the skidpad really doesnt merit its $1m pricetag. The enzo is a consideration though it is pretty much sold out around the globe.

Hard choice, they both look really dang good. I would have to sit in and examine both for a while, before i could make my decision. But if i had to make a choice right now, I would probably pick the Pagani. I like the Merc Motor it has, and from what ive seen in pics, the pagani looks to be of better quality then the Saleen. Ive seen a saleen at the Houston AutoShow, and even though it is extremley good looking, it just doesnt seem to have the good quality that im assuming the Pagani has.

Even though the Mclaren is a few years old now. If you did buy one, it would be like getting a new car. Im pretty sure Mclaren rebuilds everything on the car before you buy it. They reapolster the interior, fix all scratches, and repair anything else that is showing age. Its really not fair to put the Mclaren in the same group as the Enzo, pagani, saleen, etc. In my very important opinion, the Mclaren is the best supercar ever made, and it truly is worth its Price Tag. Witch, by the way, I think is over a million dollars now.

And if he wants a Mclaren, he should expect to add roughly 600000 to his 450000. The enzo and Mclaren are in a differnt class then the Pagani or Saleen.

Why not the Carrera GT?

If you are thinking about the Pagani, I hope you will get the C12S version.

C12s would be my choice of Paganis. My concern with the McLaren

1. Hard to service

2. Inconvenient center seating position (thus 2 rear mirrors).

3. Unless you buy directly from McLaren, who will resurface scratches, releather?

Carrera GT is excellant. Something about saying Pagani and having to explain what it is than saying Porsche that everyone already knows.

You can never do through another toll booth normally lets just say. There is no question of its performance.

Surely a Koenigsegg is the vehicle of choice for a man of your stature.

Not original enough:

Wheels of a lambo
front of an nsx
doors like the s7
tail like the enzo

Not interested in frankenstein.

I was recently asked to join the team @ www.carsportamerica.com to help them campaign their Viper GTS-R and the Pagani Zonda through this season's ALMS races. I could give you my full impression on the Zonda later in the series if you'd like?

The KOENIGSEGG is AWESOME in person. Spent 5 days along with one on the Gumball. One of the coolest interiors I've ever seen, although the seats are one-piece carbon fiber with leather covered "tempurpedic" material which forms to the shape of your body (quite uncomfortable for any extended period). Engine sounds phenomenal, and top speed (didn't witness) supposedly higher than the McLaren. Just keep a full pit crew with you everywhere you go.

The Zonda is the best "production" quality of those under consideration. But if you're expecting any of these to be as "bullet proof" as the as a TT or GT-2 (or probably the GT, for that matter), prepare for serious disappointment.

If maintenance cost is REMOTELY a consideration, forget any of them (i.e. Zonda, Saleen, Koenigsegg).
