Default Promotive or GIAC

Ok lets get this settled once and for all. I'm trying to get a understanding as to the who what and why on the ECU flashing and why 1 is better(ok maybe not better) but preferable to the other. I know alot of you guys have tried both, or have at least done your own investigation so...let the war of the words(and programming) begin....

I am ready for a flash also and pondering the same. Seem like so many good (and bad) products still hard to see a clear winner.
My concern is a flash that takes into consideration all the other mods and optimizes the performance, I am still not sure as well!!

The last count we(GIAC) had something like 250 files for the TTs depending on mods, ECU etc. Not to mention the dealer support. You could be anywhere in the US and need a dealer and find one.

I had cargraphic, FVD, and even GIAC... all pretty good.... they ALL had very good customer service... I simply did not find what I was looking for in the mentioned above... so I went a different route.
this is not a war between tuners... its what u r comfortable with and what u expect... obviously there has been some surprises as far as expected performance... maybe the bar has been raised...
all I can say is that alot of tuners have been good to me... I just was looking for a 10 second car and couldnt get one... so I chose a different way... i guess my results will speak for themselves... soon.

Tom, I have been totally happy with my x50 GIAC flash for 91 octane, and my cool little switcher unit that allows me to go back to stock. Stephen at Imagine set me up. I only want rock solid reliability...I belive I have it.

GIAC thru I/A or Sharkwerks:
good product, fantastic support
Protomotive: World class performance and product,
very high level of customer service, but completely different product.
GIAC is your "canned performance" and they have it down VERY WELL.
others:
RUF: obviously excellent, but entry fee "to play" is $30,000 for a 996TT plus
transport to and from RUF DALLAS.
PSI Motorsport: Great Mapping with emphasis on early torque and
large torque curve. Other popular board sponsors on Rennlist do not
like/respect Neil for some reason ??? So when you pick PSI (like I did, and
the product and service has been flawless), you will not be part of the huge
"bandwagon"
All above is my opions only and has been a "touchy" subject at best...
I hope this helps.
good luck with whoever you go with, I dont think you will be disappointed with
any of them.

Protomotive all the way! They are leading the TT world in power, reliability ans support. If I did it all over again I would of went with Protomotive from the beginning.
