Recommendations on aftermarket exhaust?
Folks-
Maybe this should be posted on the Performance and Modifications forum. But -I am thinking about adding an aftermarket exhaust to my 02TTX50. Choices seem to be:
-Ruf
-Roock
-Europipe
-EVO
-Fabspeed - Sport or Supersport
-B&b triflo
-FVD
-GHL
Does anyone have any experience - are they worth replacing the Porsche OEM exhaust? Is a straight pipe a good idea (although illegal on the street in the US)?
Any feedback on performance increases, build quality, warranty support, etc?
Thanks in advance for any advice.

I'm sure you can find information here by doing a search on "exhaust".
I have the EP Stage 2 Loud and like it very much. Sounds great and probably the best build quality available too.

I went with the Fabspeed GT2 with 100 cell cats. I love it. Nice sound and definate HP bump. They used the stock tips. To loud for some I've read but to me a sports car should have a little grunt. Stock does does not sound right to me - too quiet.!!
I alos hear great things about the Ruf exhaust but have not used it myself.

Ruf's to restrictive. Spend the monies and get the best.. Europipe, is proven and no one has yet returned on because they didn't like the sound.. Performance gains are at the top of the list. Not sa much as a Fabspeed though..

EP Stage 2 LOUD - boost should build 500 RPM sooner. Sound is awsome. Build quality is second to none. Gets louder with time. I love it. Is it worth $4500??? Tough question to answer. But if you want a EP, that's the going price.

Seems like you want a very sporty sound since you are considering straight pipes. I'd try to get a ride in a car with a Fabspeed Loud (which is the same thing as the GT2 SuperSport listed on the Evolution Motorsport site). That's what I did, I loved it, so I bought one. I get nothing but compliments (well, maybe a couple of cute remarks from my neighbors, but no biggie). You can swap it to Fabspeed straight pipes in 10 minutes, without even jacking up the car! (though I'm not sure there is that much difference between what are essentially '70s type glass packs and straightpipes anyway!).
Saves a bunch of weight off the rear too - the stock combined cat/muffler thing is enormous.

When I "upgrade" my exhaust in the spring, it will probably be to a Fabspeed. I have seen the evolution (No Pun) of Joe's products since 1995 and have always been impressed with his work.

I've had the B&B LeMans system on for over two years. 100 cell cats. Good fitment, good quality, no resonance and about $1,800. Used the difference between Europipe and B&B to buy a nice set of Fikse FM-10's.
