Were you cited for reckless or 22348 in excess of 100+? If it was 100+ on an on ramp did he pace you or radar you? If its reckless and you have other bad boy priors, better see a lawyer.
If your record is clean prior to this infraction, plead " nolo contendere" and ask for traffic school. He doesn't have to give it to you but most will. The judges that hear these cases in south county get pissed when you give them a **** and bull story. They have heard every excuse. Good luck.

"100+ is automatic suspension I believe.......get a lawyer!"
The court may suspend your license for up to 30 days on your first conviction. Its not automatic.

LOL brian. come on thats a bit harsh,
everytime one goes 1mph over the limit, you are breakin the law, and don't try to tell me you haven't done it.
admittedly, when you get caught, its easy to jump on the person, but come on...
that said, i'm sure he can find a saavy lawyer who can get him outta this bind. good luck farhen.
and do stop posting the same question everywhere, just call up a good lawyer that practices alot in the area, and hopefully knows the judge/proscecutor.
have them reduce the charge, or give you traffic school, hopefully no points

You need to find a lawyer who practices in the court a lot. If your own lawyer doesn't know who that might be, you'll have to ask around. There might be someone of that ilk in the yellow pages.
With a lawyer who has familiarty with court personnel, you may be able to get some substitution of the offense to lower the seriousness of the charge but maintain the amount of the fine. I once got nailed for passing a cop when I passed a long line of cars using a construction lane. In my case tere was no safety risk, just a pissed off state trooper. The local attorney got the charges changed "in the interests of justice"... At least that's wat the court document stated. If my experience is a guide, it will still cost about $800 AS

Lots of times they will just charge you alot. Ive heard many times that you can get them dropped down to parking tickets (200$ parking tickets) but bottom line all they want is your money. And if your fast driver your more of an oppurtunity for money.
