If your not comfortable about pleading your case, and want to keep your license, get an attorney.
The fact that he paced you, will give your lawyer an opening. The fine will be over $500 plus traffic school fee. With a lawyer you have a great shot at traffic school. On your own, 50/50. No priors helps. Good luck. BTW, I have been cited for over a 100+ and I am attorney.

Get an attorney that practices in the town of where you have to appear in court. Good Luck.

Join ......National Motorist Assoc or at least go to their site for some ideas.

Excellent group.........they have fairly complete 'kits' they send out on the best way how to deal with the situation from the get-go........also have a national legal referal network and much more in member resources......also, IMHO, one of the best groups representing us (drivers) Locally, in your State, to Washington, etc......(unless you think AAA is really 'looking out for you'

I'm just a member............not affiliated.

Another NMA recommendation. The offramp signs in MA are recommended speeds and not mandatory, just a local loophole.

"...With a lawyer you have a great shot at traffic school. On your own, 50/50. No priors helps..."

by no priors, i meant i haven't had a 22348 before. i'm not eligible for traffic school cos i'm going to one this month for a prior infraction back in may

an attorney who tries cases in my dist. says the DA there dosen't negotiate. he devised a strategy to get me off completely...but worst case, i'm facing 2 points, a $500 fine and 30-day suspended license.

FYI you can’t get traffic school for this. Exceeding 100 is a 2 point ticket and 4 or 5 on your insurance. At lest this is what happened to me. But I swear it wasn’t me

your lucky you just got a ticket, anything sited at over 100 mph is a misdemenor, reckless driving and 2 points come along for free! the officer has the disgression to haul you in if he chooses, no chance of traffic school for anything 15mph over in O.C. trust me on this,

anyway, hire a lawyer and it will end up costing you about the same as the ticket would if you just payed it anyway and you will get it reduced to a more record friendly charge.
As far as requesting the county seat.... if i remember right i think you have to request that on the ticket.

Definitely get a lawyer. It will set you back at least $250 + citation fee, but it's better than a point on your record or a suspension!!

I thought the threshold had been lowered to 90 MPH based on my 17 year olds insight (she just took the test). True or False?

The fact that you have a prior infraction, which will show on the court file, doesn't help your case.
You need an attorney as you are facing a misdemeanor as you will be fined $500 plus a good chance of 30-60 day suspension of your license if you go it alone. There is, contrary to the sources on the board, secret trafffic school which is a minimum of 16 hours.
This is reserved for more serious offences (misdemeanors). You will need an attorney that has criminal court experience to negotiate this with the DA to save your license. The increase in insurance premiums is the big cost. With a suspended license on your DMV record the cost of an attorney will be cheap.

I now take my need for speed to the track.
