Default 996 Turbo Dyno/Dragy Repository

We don't have a thread like this that I could find so I figured it would be interesting to start one. The goal is to just post dynos or Dragy runs for your car and include information about the relevant mods done to the car to achieve your numbers.

I'll start.

These were from early 2020 on a Dynocom dyno, which are known for reading higher than a more common Mustang or Dynojet. Best run of the session was 555hp/468ft lb, but I think the operator let off the throttle early because my redline is 7200 rpm, not 6200.

Relevant mods to the car at the time were:
FVD "Race" K24 turbos (https://www.autoatlanta.com/Porsche-...FVD123023.html)
1.3 bar MAFless tune by Markski
5-bar FPR
Fender well intakes
2.5" Fabspeed Maxflo exhaust (necks down for stock tips though)
Propshaft removed to dyno with RWD only

It's remarkable how Capt Obvious' dyno chart here has no resemblance whatsoever to what Docwyte posted in the K24 thread. At first glance the engine setups look pretty similar.

I don't think @Capt. Obvious car was ran till redline on the 1st pic..looks like they let off @ 6100 rpm?

Perhaps thats why

It would be cool if we had a board Dragy we can lend out and everyone can do some runs.

It is interesting. I need to find a new "home" dyno since I moved to a new area to get a new baseline for the car.

Stock motor, stock heads, stock cams
XR1000s @ 1.3 bar/19 psi
92 octane E10 pump gas
Syvecs S7+ tuned by me
EBWerks 3" X-pipe exhaust "race version"
Kline headers
Filters on turbos
997TT DO88 big pack intercoolers and y-pipe
997TT intake manifolds
997TT DO88 intake plenum for 82mm TB, 997 GT3 82mm throttle body
ID1300 injectors, 3.8 bar base pressure, adjustable Weldon FPR
RWD, 3300 lbs, aero with rear wing set to track setup (mentioning this because when I tested with K16s the aero drag from rear wing angle had a pretty large effect on 60-130)

Stock motor, stock heads, stock cams
OEM K16s with 1 bar wastegates @ 1.2 bar/17-18 psi (sort of- the boost fluctuated with the engine's VE, the turbos couldn't make any more than they were making)
Pump E85 that was reading E75 on the sensor
Syvecs S7+ tuned by me
EBWerks 3" X-pipe exhaust "race version"
Kline headers
Filters on turbos
997TT DO88 big pack intercoolers and y-pipe
997TT intake manifolds
997TT DO88 intake plenum for 82mm TB, 997 GT3 82mm throttle body
ID1300 injectors, 3.8 bar base pressure, adjustable Weldon FPR
RWD, 3300 lbs, rear wing was removed

What a god awful torque curve but it kinda worked for the year or so that I ran it, just had to shift it well before redline

Yeah, that is curious. Similar setups, I've got UMW 1 bar wastegates, 997 GT2RS intercoolers, 5 bar fpr, Europipe catted exhaust.I have to assume just different tuning philosophy's? My tune is a custom dyno tune, Harvey did it on his Mainline dyno. I'll get the car on DynaPro's dynojet and see what it does, as Harvey's Mainline is a heartbreaker and reads really low in comparison. Plus who knows how accurate the extrapolation is, although Harvey thinks it's actually a pessimistic number, so it could be more...

I like the way my car feels, turbo's spool, then it's just an unrelenting pull to 7000 rpm.

@docwyte It sounds like a combination of the larger k24 turbine wheel + a boost map that is very linear means it keeps pullin'!

That is amazingly terrible, but it's probably a good representation of what the turbos are capable of, and therefore a great illustration of why K16's are so undesirable. I am guessing you were not asking for all the boost at low rpm? It would be fun to see a stupidly high torque peak at 2500rpm.

I'm thinking since I have all these parts now I could expect something like this turned down 10 percent or so? Need to protect the rods... That would be very very good.

Was thinking in a similar manner.

That is most impressive.
