This is what I get for not reviewing all of the pics when something doesn't make sense.

Also can't put the serp belt on with the PS pump pulley in place.
The "Norma" clamps can be had from McMaster-Carr for less than Porsche wants, and probably better delivery.
Looking good!

Loosen the PS pump pulley bolts. Relieve belt tension with a 15mm on the tensioner & slip belt off the idler under the alternator. Remove PS pulley and take belt out.

That's strange. I have changed the belts numerous times own these cars without removing the PS pulley. I simple relived tension off belt with the tensioner. Takes a minute or two to change the belt.

You guys must have smaller hands or be more deft in getting the belt back in. I can barely do it with the PS pulley removed.

Yea, there's no need to remove any pulleys, that's what the tensioner is for.

I"m fairly certain I can get the belt on with the pulley installed. I got the old one off as I recall...
Anyhow. New lines ordered, for the second time. Sadly have to go out of town the next week... so... Again a pause in progress.

Three Wheelin'

Just noticed them pretty turbos. Hmmmm turbos.
I had to lower my engine twice in a week. 1 to fix a vacuum leak on the left intake boot. I let the car sit for a week. Finally I drove the car yesterday to find a dead oil pressure gauge. 2 to reconnect the 1 wire that came off.
I did the 964 RS engine mount conversion with is a PITA because it's hard to get a tool to stay on the top of the bolt when turning the nut below.
I agree that removing the engine is the easiest part of most repairs. Refilling the coolant on the 996tt or doing an alternator on a 930 takes longer.
