Agreed. But the last 928 I had was a 1989 S4 5 Spd with LSD and an M118 supercharger it was an animal. It was intercooled with Devek setup suspension all around. I was running 315 rear tires (17") and it was a monster. In 2008 I was attending Sharks in the Mountain and my wife and I came across 996TT (red) and a GT3. We followed them and played around going down the mountain. At the bottom the drivers switched car and the 996TT left. It was just us and the GT3 going back up. The 928 never skipped a beat and if I could have passed him if we were on the track. By the way, they didn't appeared to be happy when the switched cars that an old V8 was in their tail. I wish I kept the Supercharged one.
Wow, your 928 was a beast. Mine is a plain, ol’ slush box ‘87 S4, completely stock except for a crappy aftermarket stereo. Looks like you had no problem keeping the pace. Thanks for sharing the video - I thoroughly enjoyed it.
Anyone add head rest bolsters to the seats? My neck gets stiff after a while without the support.
Hah, I have been looking through the threads since I bought the car but have not found anything yet. In my case, I am fine with the way it is however my "bald grease" will eventually mess up the leather. Let us know if you find a headrest bolster. Personally I think it will be a great idea to have a leather slip-over that covers the headrest and that also have front padded area. I would not mind biting the bullet on getting something like that as long as it does not have excessive Porsche tax added.
Strange as I just did a road trip to Miami and back for DRt. Longest trip in my 6TT yet (6 hours each way). I found my non-sport seats very comfy, even for my 6'3", 225lb butt. No complaints at all.
Alsomconfirmed that even Porsche Sport Seats are basically useless on a track. They do not provide near enough support IMHO for track days. Now GT3 seats would work for sure.
