He is pointless? Wow. Did you read his bio??

So you think the guys with the spray guns know more about the chemistry than the chemists...wow.

Based on your comments regarding education, the oil change point is even more spot on. Your "don't confuse me with the facts" is typical of those stuck in the past.

Do you have a PhD in anything?

Do you need a phd to paint cars? Do you paint ? Or are you speaking from google experience? You sound a little condescending.

You are so far off base it's unreal. Did you not read any of my previous posts. A chemist/engineer deals with absolutes. He literally defers back to the 30-90 days. You still are trying to push a point for what reason? You acknowledged above and said it must be "more of a legal out IMO" . So your own article you linked qualifies our sentiments and you said, "well it must be a legal out IMO", lol.

Again, a painter is dealing with lots of variables; temp, climate, humidity and the most important, mixing ratio. Varying hardener will cause curing times to vary. This is why most still say it's safest to wait. Just freaking wait! It's not that hard. I've personally seen cars waxed too soon and paint lift due to it. It's just not worth the hassle considering the time/cost of good paintwork. Just wait and never worry. Or wax it right away and if you have any issues, you can defer back to the paint chemist. lol.

His PhD in chemistry certainly establishes credibility. His job experience certainly establishes credibility.

And no, a deep understanding of the actual chemical processes involved with paint is not a requirement before painting cars.

Yes, they know more about how those chemicals work in the real world.

Has he ever painted a car? No. His is opinion is useless.

Do you know what "legal out" means?

You sound foolish. Do some more searching and you'll find lots of info. You're literally regurgitating crap you read online. I've worked in shops and have been trained by PPG in auto refinishing. I actually paint things.

Yes, you read that the article you linked agreed with what I originally wrote pages ago, and yet you said, "IMO it's just a legal out". So you literally dismiss what you want since that part doesn't fit your agenda.

I've painted too.

Be sure to change your oil every 3,000 miles.

I'm picturing a painter standing next to the chemist while he tries to figure out the gun. The two could not be further apart. They share only the knowledge of a product. The painter knows how to use it, the chemist knows how to make it. But I digress, I'm sure there's some out there doing both.

This must be like a novelty account right? lol

I change my oil every 5k. Even my new truck calls for like 10k changes now, but I feel better doing 5k. Plus diesels make oil nasty real quick.
