Default DE tire check in

Hey folks I’m back in a 996tt (AWD) with decent track capability and bought some new APEX wheels 9”/12” and need tires. I’ve ran NTs on previous cars and enjoyed the performance/value and will go that direction again I suspect as I need to move quickly. the car is ~GT2 height and will be aligned well. I know I need to watch front rear ration <3%.

235/315 is an easy option
245/305 was what is used on my GT3. Per Discounttire they are 26” diameter. Anyone using this on an AWD car? How is fit/rub?

NTs are tried and true but really enjoyed my Cup2s on the 350R and 7.2TT as well.

Thoughts please.

I'm running the falken rt615K in 245/315 sizes on the same wheels as you. Probably not as aggressive of a tire as you want but no rubbing for me yet on x73 suspension.

Go with 245/315. Perfect specs for AWD.

The good news is that if you want to go with the Falken RTK-615+ tires, both the 235/40 and 245/40 are taller than the 315s, so you can choose either and not have to even think about the AWD and front / rear tire heights.

don't have many miles on them yet but the A052 seem to be much stickier and more importantly have better stability/response vs the Rt615k+
will see how treadlife and heat cycling is as I get more time on them

Hey Carlo, why? The original 18" diameter difference waswas .1" greater on 18" stock. I've been trying to find new tires for my 19" HRE's and the closest I've found is 235/315 at .3" greater in the front. 245/315 is .6" greater in the front.

235/35/19 & 315/25/19

I believe the OP is talking about 18" Nitto NT-01 tires for DE/autocross. A 245/40-18 NT-01 is .2" larger diameter than the 315/30-18 rear. It is best 18" combo I have found for AWD compatibility and front/rear grip balance.

I had some rubbing on the rear inside fender liners on track with 315 NT01s. 7mm spacers solved it.

You can get the gt2 fender liner mounts to cure that. They are like $25. Google powdrhounds post on it.

With your new 9”/12” Apex wheels what if any spacers are you using and are you lowered? Fenders rolled yet?

cheers all!

Rob,
Are you just using the A052s for track use? I almost went with those but wanted a little more capability on the street as well.
