How about the chimes? Is that dealer programmable or is there some way to cancel it?

If someone finds a way to kill off the never ending seat belt chime -I'd like to know too. Seems to be the same on all the 2004's irrespective of model.

thanks for the clarification on the factory stitching, i suppose if someone really wnats it, a custom upholstry shop can do it. not for me though.
Bob, if you always use the 6points when driving yuor GT3, why not get just the 'buckle' and put it in the hole always.
that way the car always thinks the belts are in.

Seat belt chime

Bob, after trying everything electronic, and failing, I got a seat belt tab from a wrecked boxster. Just stick it in the 3 point receiver, and Voila...no chime when using the six pointer. Low tech but works like a charm. I believe that Audi, VW and BMW all use the same seat belt hardware, or simiiar enough.

There have been some recent discussions about harnesses with some built in stretch zones that are not considered compatible with a HANS type device. IIRC, the tequipment harness has this stretch property. A consideration if you're going to employ a head and neck restraint system in the future.

Hi Moogle,
One thing I learned today, from Austin at Devek, is that there are 2 versions of the Schroth 6-point harness. One version, the "standard" one, has the cam in the sub-belt, and the lap and shoulder straps are 3". An alternative has the cam on one of the lap belts, which are only 2". It allows for relatively easy hitching up with just 4 belts, say for a quick zip around the hills, without having to cinch yourself down in the sub-belts. Might be more friendly for a passenger as well. Plus, they're roughly $50 cheaper. I went for those.
Just FYI.

for what its worth, when i had the GT3 seats/rollbar/6pt harness installed in my 05 GT3, i had them thread the 3 point belts through both holes, they fit fine , even with the 6 point harness
