Default Quick GT3 seat question.

Should the belts loop through the holes in the seat at the shoulder AND in the seat at the left hip too?

i only put it thru the shoulder hole, because the lap hole is small and with six points going thru they mess up with the factory belt.

It works much better (sits down tight against your body as it should) fed through the seat but depending on how "thick" you are through the midsection, it might be about the same not feeding it through...?

RR,

I saw your car at DFC yesterday. How much did you pay for DUTY on the seats (mine's in transit from Foreign Affair).

While it may seem intuitive to thread the belt through the hole at the left hip, I was told that Porsche does not recommend it. In fact I have heard that the Euro GT3 cars that come with GT3 seats do not thread the belt through that hole. Not sure why....Anyone with a Euro GT3 want to chime in to confirm this????

Thats who I want to hear from too. We are talking about an important safety aspect and I would like to know for sure.

Here's a shot I found of a GT3, not sure if it's Euro or not, but may be...

Well I just watched the video of one lap at Lepzeig from the Porsche site and at the begining there is a shot of the passenger seat and it looks like they thread the belt through the hole by the left hip...I don't think there is a safety issue, either way, but Watt makes a good point regarding the 5 point system...There would not be enough room to thread the stock belt through the hole with the sub belt....

Look on the Porsche UK web site and you'll find a picture that isn't incredibly clear but does indicate the belts run thru the holes in the seat at both the top and bottom: UK GT3 Interior

Hard to say for sure. Looking at a diagramatic of the GT2 it also looks like the belt goes through the lower hole (drivers seat)...

Also, since you cannot thread the belt through the other hip-level-hole I see no logical reason why it should be passed through either. (I'll avoid using left and right since mine is the other way round to yours!)

The six-point harnesses of course use all four holes (and the two sub belts come up between the seat-base cushions), due to the mount being central.

GuyR, thanks for your clarification and the GT2 pix.

rockitman, the pix you attached with "GT3" embroidered on floor mats and alcantara seat insert, i believe is Viken's car.
