Not that it is a bad thing necessarily

The King Mezger

I called on the Santa Clarita Porsche dealer car today. Only a few hours after the salesman called me Bubba, he called back to inform me they would take $80k.

Very interesting conversations with him...

Gotta love the "winner's" comment, "this vehicle now belongs to me. Warren (the PO) was a great person to deal with. Car is sitting pretty with me now for a very long while.".
seems like about 6 months??

Good luck Bubba!

I'm kind of surprised that it didn't go for more. It seems that collectors are flocking toward the sub 10k miles of every make and model. For example, a gen two viper gts with 9k miles sold for $125k yesterday.

I'm expecting a high number on a BAT GT3 in the near future, just a hunch.

BAT is a joke if you think you are getting a car for a deal.
Yeah in reality your overpaying. And where are all these 996 GT3 coming from?

2021 the year 200 996 gt3 are brought to auction by Bringatrailer.... lol. Facepalm.

i would doubt that many here are considering BaT as a place to find a 'deal' on anything, but social media in general has all but done away with the 'lady old lady' cars that you might luck into and buy. everyone is aware of almost every car out there and they all find their way to a forum somewhere. auctions are still a barometer of a market and they do show actual prices people are paying for certain models. i wouldn't scoff at the whole platform. more than anything, it's a place a current owner can list a car in the hopes of a bidding war and a nice return.

The place a car sells has always dictated the price. BaT is no different.

I think more and more that the purchase of a GT3 should be closer to the purchase of a Ferrari vs. a 911.

the history about HOW this machine was maintained (and improved) is worth and extra 5-10k in my opinion.
