New owner - 2004 GT3 engine out to-do's

If you do plan to mod the car, I would say save yourself a lot of time and money and find one that has already been done, then fine tune that to your taste. It's so expensive to properly mod one of these, and truly, by doing so, you devalue the car, at least to the purists. I say find a done car and enjoy it immediately. They pop up for sale now and then, so keep your eyes peeled.

Just super rare to find 6gt3's in Canada....US $ market too pricey these days!
I did same 2 yrs ago and transformed a low mile street virgin...great car once set up for the track.

there are very very very few correctly modded 6gt3
it's not about in a hurry of not. if you see one buy it. b/c if you dont, it will be in my garage within 3 min of posting ;-)
and anyone with a #1 condition 6gt3, pm me. no mods preferred. and like it to be new ;-)
Yup, I've lost my mind. List so far looks like:
Tarett toe links
Lower, align, corner balance
4.0 LWFW
WEVO motor mounts
Cantrell transmission bushings
Cup brake ducts
E88's with NT-01
Pinned fittings, water wetter
Guard LSD plates
Pagid Yellow
Rear RS spoiler
Cup front spoiler
Console delete
RSS bar
Scroth and GT3 Euro seat transplant
Other than that, I swear, it's a stock low miles example!

And +1 on the OEM nomex recaro - I long for a pair, missed out on some a few months back. I have leather euros in mine and whilst it's essentally the same, leather is not great on a tightly snug fitting bucket IMO.

I didn't find NT-01 had enough stick going into the braking zone for the Esses at Tremblant. Scared me once.
Sport Cups are a better compromise. Haven't tried the Trofeos but the old Corsas I liked a lot.
Chris Rouleau appreciated the fact I use Water Wetter when my hose blew spraying water all over the front of his car going into 7.
Console delete is good.
I use Pagid Yellow fronts and Black rears with GiroDisc slotted rotors. They are WAY better than stock crossdrilled and last a lot longer.
Buy and use a Hans if you don't already have one.

I found NT01 way to squirmy, tried 2 sessions and changed for Trofeo's way more stick. Sport cups also very good....but Trofeo = less $ and last longer imo
I'm PFC fan and did their floating front discs last year with PFC08 pads.
I hope to see you @ LCMT this season Chris,

House under construction, buying a building down the street from the office that I didn't expect that will need some renovations, second kid on the way at the end of June or so and the first one will be one and a half.
Probably May. Not sure after that.

It sucks to waste an entire day of DE breaking in tires. I guess the benefit is they perform pretty well down to the cords. I always throw an extra set of rears in the truck in case that happens.
I found the braking performance to be pretty similar to high quality street tires, but they hold much higher lateral G.

Thanks Rob.
Shakedown on our Beirut (uh, Montreal) roads starts next week. First event is LCMT mid-May.
Phase I almost complete.
Still to do the front grill mesh to keep out the beavers, mount the track wheels/tires (long studs installed), get the front end wrapped with XPEL. Oh, and the roll bar and seat transplant... close to giving up on finding an RSS 930 used.
Last call???
Cheers
